I ran across a great site that chronicles a couples journey through North America, Central America and South America in their B190.

http://thebrightsideoftheroad.com/home.html

I am so jealous!

Hehe...they are members here. I added the link to their site on the main page of b190.com the other day. Smile

I was telling my fiancee about it - she was amazed. Great stories, and I learned a few things, too.

I think it would be great to have an interview or article with them regarding their trip that focused on van. Things like modifications, equipment, lessons learned, things they would change ect.

Good idea... does anyone have any other questions? I'll ask him if he'd be interested in responding either in this thread or more "formally" (such as article written up for the front page of the site)...

"We just came back from a whirlwind year and a half adventure around North, Central and South America in our B190 Airstream. We drove a total of 44,000 miles and did not even have a flat tire the whole time."

What tires were they running?
What maintenance and upgrades were done before the trip?
Best and worst gas mileage?
Any special modifications made for the off road sections of the trip?

Hey, everyone! They've agreed to do an interview for us! Smile

So, if you have any further questions, please post them here. I'll write them up, send them to them, and post their responses in an article on the site.

Please post any additional questions by, say, midnight Eastern time on Thursday, October 8 (next Thursday). I'll try to send them over that weekend.

The questions posted so far are good ones, but don't be afraid to ask more open-ended questions, too. Smile

Reminder: Just two more days to get your questions in!

Thanks.

Sorry everyone - I had a very busy weekend and didn't get to writing up these questions. I plan to do it tonight though.

Just a quick update on this - I have the answers to our questions and am working on posting them (I have the article drafted but I want to review it again before I post it). So it should be up later this week. Smile

Sorry for the delays - my life has been very busy lately.

Good job.... thanks for that

BTW...those big ole rear boxes/carriers are a major pain in the butt. Nothing but in the way, its a ton of leverage back there, and a long way behind the rear axle, all important

If ya absolutely have to have one....mount it on the front, which is actually easier than mounting on the rear
