Re: Major Floor Upgrade
I actually did this before last winter, I've just been putting off making a post about it. I didn't notice a change in the sound, but it's definitely a lot warmer in the cold weather. I stood on this floor with bare feet in January and I wasn't even cold. Before this floor, bare feet when it was tha...

Major Floor Upgrade
Here's the story of replacing my original b190 carpet with a heavily insulated wood floor. I lived in the B190 for a winter in New England, so the insulation was important to me. When I first bought my B190, there was some broken parts in the fresh water plumbing. I didn't know that when I filled th...

My Couch Solution
I was never satisfied with the under-couch storage in the B190, so I changed it entirely. Now it folds up out of the way so I can reach all my cargo from above rather than through the drawer. The drawer on mine had fallen apart before I bought it anyway, so I removed it. There's just a big empty com...

Re: Generator won't stay on
Thanks everyone for your advice! Cliff, Thank you especially for that troubleshooting guide. I haven't dug into it much yet, but this guide is exactly what I need. I'm a mechanical engineer, I just don't have any experience with gensets. Meanwhile, the plot thickens. Now the engine runs fine, but it...

Re: No flow through propane valve.
So, I solved this problem last winter and never reported back until now. I found that my problem was twofold. 1) The Extend-a-Stay a T-connector I had installed somehow blocked flow from the on-board tank. I'm not sure why this happened, but it had something to to do with the little ball in the inle...

Generator won't stay on
I'm gaving some trouble with the Onan 2800 on my B190. I'm hoping somebody on here can help. When I try to start, the generator turns over and actually runs while I hold down the starter. As soon as I let off, though, it shuts down again. The red light that means the generator is running stably neve...

Re: Stabilizer Bars
I just finished putting the rear stabilizer bars on my 1996 b190. Be very careful when enlarging the holes to attach the rear bar. One of the holes points towards the fuel tank. If your drill bit plunges too far through that hole, you could hit the tank! My installation was way harder than it should...

Re: Subfloor replacement?
I've done a lot of work on the floor in my B190 lately. It's a '96. The original subfloor is 1/2" plywood. It's not strongly attached to the body of the van at all. Taking out the entire kitchen cabinet and couch, I noticed only one screw which actually went all the way through the plywood into...

Re: No flow through propane valve.
Thanks for your input, nvestysly. I talked to my local RV shop, and they said they couldn't get the gas out any other way. It's a tough problem. I'll keep asking other shops. I'll let it out through the bleed valve if I absolutely have to, but there's still several pounds of gas in there, so I reall...

Re: No flow through propane valve.
Good thought Cliff, thank you. I know there is gas in there though, since it comes out if I open the bleed valve. I also haven't used it much since the last fill. I've heard of people getting there tanks pumped out and filled with nitrogen for shipping a tank by plane. I don't know where to go for t...

Bedroom Rott / Renovation
Didn't notice when I bought my B190 that the side windows by the bunk bed had been leaking. They were bad, but they leaked inside the walls, so the damage was hidden. At first, I thought it was just leaking around the sliding glass pane, and I caulked that up. Repairing the water damage gave me a ni...
