Re: Streaks on body side from roof runoff

I too am trying to eliminate the gray streaks down the side of the van and on the windows. A few weeks ago I washed the van for the first time since we've owned it (bought it about two-three months ago). I quickly realized the top is in worse condition than I realized. The color of the roof is consi...

Re: Rain Gutters...

I was searching for other information and came across this thread and found it very informative. The B190 I'm working on for my sister-in-law certainly has the issue of dripping on your head over the doors. This may be the solution to the problem. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Re: Horn and Cruise Contol Not Working - Wiring Harness?

I was not able to identify any technical service bulletins or recalls associated with horn and cruise control problems. However, other than performing internet searches I don't have a means to find this kind of information. That is, I don't have a membership to a technical service that provides this...

Holding Your Campsite During the Day

I'm probably overthinking this issue but I foresee a problem and want to know how others handle the issue. If you're staying at a S.P., Corp of Engineer or similar park - where many allow you to choose your own site - what do you do, if anything, to show the site is occupied while you're away during...

Re: What are these???!

Hmmm.... they do look a little like batteries but it appears the black plastic boxes (batteries) are not sitting on the sheet metal brackets. It appears they are somehow suspended 1/2 - 1 inch. Probably doesn't help answer your question but it seems odd. You didn't say the year of your van. The year...

Re: B190.com site stickers now available again! (10/6/2008)

I know this is an old thread but I'm a relatively new member and still finding things on the forum. Are stickers still available? The links to order (in the earlier post) appear to be active but I don't want to submit money via PayPal without knowing availability.

Thanks, Lucius

Re: New Bilstein Shocks

The front shocks are installed and yes it makes a difference. It's hard to tell at this point if the change is significant because the rear shocks are not installed yet. The rear shock have not shipped yet and I may not receive them until August - they're backordered. As others have said, the front ...

Re: hubcap

What type of hub cap are you referring to? The later model plastic cover that looks like a "mag wheel?" Or an earlier version? Regardless, please post more information about the seller and type of cap you purchased on Amazon.

Thanks, Lucius

Re: Horn and Cruise Contol Not Working - Wiring Harness?

I found this picture on ford-trucks.com. The arrow points to the horn relay. As I said in the earlier post, I removed the relay and made a jumper to power the relay. All is good for now. I'm amazed at how many people in vans and trucks seem to have some sort of problem with the horn and cruise contr...

Re: Horn and Cruise Contol Not Working - Wiring Harness?

I drove the van after lunch and both the horn and cruise control are working with my temporary fix. At this point I'm not prepared to make the full repair. I'm not even sure what the full repair would be except to say it would involve diagnosing the wiring harness and power junction box to understan...

Re: Horn and Cruise Contol Not Working - Wiring Harness?

I'm working on the van this morning and I'm leaning toward some version of item 3 above. Going without a horn (item 1 above) is really not a good option since I feel it's a safety issue and my wife, it's her sister who will be driving the van soon, definitely wants a working horn. Paying somebody to...

Re: Replacing Sofa/ Bed

I'll start by saying I've never done this so take anything I say with the proverbial "grain of salt." However, I have questions and wonder if there is another solution. Why do you need/want to replace the unit? Is the frame broken or otherwise does not work? If the frame is broken maybe it...

I decided to take my discussion to another thread since my problem seems to be of a different nature. If interested, you can find the other thread at the link below:

Horn and Cruise Contol Not Working - Wiring Harness?

I had originally added comments to another thread: http://www.b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=506 But now I've decided to make a new thread since my issues seem to be different than the original thread. A month or so ago I realized the horn and cruise control were not working. This 1998 van was pur...

Re: Horn and cruise control

Since the clockspring seems to be working and I ran out of troubleshooting ideas I decided to visit a local Ford dealer to see what they could find. I'm sitting in the waiting room and just received word from the service advisor. The diagnostics they've performed indicate there is a problem with the...
