Re: Engine problems....
Coolant temperature sensor was bad, causing engine to keep feeding fuel like a cold engine, even after engine temp was at operating temp. Who woulda guessed? !

Re: Anyone changed their o2 sensor? '91 airstream B
By God, I think I found the problem ! Haven't driven her yet , but idled and revved her for 20 minutes, no stalls, no smoke , just a sweet running engine! Come to find out, after replacing the o2 sensor, a guy at the parts store( advanced discount@ chiefland, Fl) he suggested the coolant temperature...

Re: Anyone changed their o2 sensor? '91 airstream B
Well, got the o2 sensor changed, plugs, and fuel filter too. Some improvement on the amount of black smoke, but not completely . Still throwing parts, I got a coolant temp sensor today, now if I can find where it goes, maybe that will help.
Sigh.....,
Sigh.....,

Re: Replacement Fuel Pump?
I went to advanced auto to get ours. The pumps weren't OEM, but have been working for nearly 2 years, ( I had to replace tanks too). 94$ each. A friend helped me install, not too difficult, not too fun either.

Re: Anyone changed their o2 sensor? '91 airstream B
I've tried just holding the pedal, doesn't seem to work . I always thought that odd also. Gonna try the 02 sensor, plugs and a new filter soon, ECM module( computer) next if this doesn't work. Looks fun to try to get to!

Anyone changed their o2 sensor? '91 airstream B
Still having problems with engine....seems to be air/ fuel mixture issue . Cranks fine, runs 5-10 minutes at idle, give it gas, and it stalls. Pump the pedal furiously for a while, and it starts , but runs like hell. Plugs are fouled with soot, lots of smoke from the exhaust( smells like too much fu...

Sell? Or part out?
:?: I'm thinking of revising our traveling plans, and possibly downsizing even smaller than a class B . I have a 1991 a Airstream class B, 81k miles, but heavily modified to fit my wife and myself. Basically I rebuilt it to be a desert boondocker. No sofa, futon mattress on plywood platform, 19"...

Re: Engine problems....
The engine cranks too easily, and runs too smooth to be a really major issue, it's probably something minor . I am disabled, and not really mechanically inclined. Not a total idiot, but feel pretty close. The truck ran so well for 11000 miles... It has to be something causing it to run rich . And, i...

Engine problems....
We bought a 91van, almost 2 years ago, planned on full timing for a little while . Got a great deal on the purchase price.i repainted it, including hundreds of airbrushed rivets, new tires, ripped out the crappy sofa and made a more permanent bed area, to utilize all the space underneath . The gener...
