Thanks---I'll try those suggestions. On a side note----this van came with huge red Wally Byam? club ID numbers. I'd like to remove them as that club isn't big around here and the numbers make it look like a rental or something. If interested the # is 10557. Would a blade used to remove window stick...

I'd look at replacing or improving the gaskets for the doors. Also, I would sometimes take a towel and stuff it in the step well by the side door. If you can get someone outside the doors with a light, at night, you may be able to spot leaks where the light shines through. I've heard of others hangi...

how about on a hill w/no trailer?
You might have to downshift and go slower, but I'm sure you'd get there. That said, if you're going to be scaling hills frequently, you're probably going to wish you had the 460 or V10.

I suspect it's probably okay alone. Towing would probably be slow.

Yeah. We worked out a deal with the high bidder. I'm sorry to see it go, but I'm glad it's getting out of our driveway. I'll try to get the new owners to join us here. :)

Yes. It's the 351. I put the VIN in the Ford site and it said it was a 5.8L engine.

Re: fixture replacement

This might seem like a dim-wit reply but have you checked to make sure the light tubes are good. When we purchased our van, the overhead light did not work and we too, checked for power, found that we had power and then bought new tubes and haven't had a problem since. I was assuming they'd already...

Camping World has them, and I've also seen them in several RV parts departments. Fair warning - they're like $50, which seems high considering you can buy a florescent 4-foot 120 volt fixture for less than $20.

If you had to log in you may have noticed I got rid of the annoying number box. I didn't realize there was a simple configuration option I could use to remove it, but I found it while I was setting the site up on the new server. No point in having that any longer since we create accounts by hand. I...

In mine the generator cranks off the coach battery. She should be able to start the engine then start the generator - that's what I had to do when I'd let the coach battery drain too far to start the generator.

The first of these cable goes to your converter panel under the couch. The second goes directly to the generator, for starting the generator. Slight correction here - not only is it used for starting, but the generator for some reason must see 12 volts on that line while it's running or it will shu...

Thanks for the reply. She's been visiting a friend and is connected to the 110v house power there which is probably a 15A circuit. I'm wondering now if she's overloaded some circuit in the RV by running the A/C, water pump, and who knows what else. I'll pass along your info. Keep in mind that the A...
