Re: Increasing Overall capacity of the fuel tanks

Just another data point: My 1999 is specified to have a 35g fuel tank. On our first long trip, just completed, I could put in around 23-25g when the tank read around 1/4, which seems about right. When I ran until the needle was pointing straight through the middle of the "E", I put in 31g....

Re: Driver side skirt/step replacement options?

I don't know about a replacement for the skirt, but it always surprised me how much a fiberglass guy could do for my boat, fixing damage I wouldn't have thought possible, without necessarily spending an arm and a leg. Might be worth tracking someone down to find out.

Re: LP Gas access door

I took another a look at my 1999 and indeed the add-on body molding does have an access door above the LPG tank beneath the double side doors. At some prior time, after an accident of some kind, this panel had been cracked, crudely repaired, and screwed into place, so I didn't recognize it as an acc...

Re: Toggle switch near right headlight

Repairs completed. Home again. The body shop ended up calling Ford about the toggle switch behind the headlight. They were told that it was probably a "poor man's" disable switch. Then, when they were putting things back together, the switch kind of disintegrated internally and would no lo...

Re: LP Gas access door

Sounds like the 1997 has a different LPG setup than the 1999. Ours is beneath the double side door and has no access panel. Sorry, I don't have any ideas on a replacement.

Re: Replacing the Fresh and Gray Tanks

Is the 1.5" vent actually into the fresh water tank, or into a surround around the tank? Is it currently connected to anything? On my 1999, there is a ~1.5" duct hose from the LP furnace to each of the below-floor tanks (fresh, grey). These ducts are designed to flow warm furnace air into ...

Re: Wanted: B190 in good condition

You might already have seen the 1995 on ebay with 7 hours left, located in Philadelphia. Hasn't hit reserve yet, so unknown if price will be interesting or not.

They only made a little over a thousand of these, so it may be difficult to find one on short order near your location.

Re: LP Gas access door

My 1999 doesn't have an access door for the LP gas. The LPG tank and its controls are below the double side doors. If you are speaking of the water heater access door which is just behind the rear tire on the passenger side, then that is a standard Atwood 6-gallon water heater door, and can easily b...

Re: Toggle switch near right headlight

Here is a photo of the switch, from the body shop. It doesn't really appear to be a factory Ford installation. It was apparently installed through a hole in the headlight surround. Does anyone recognize this as an Airstream installation? AirstreamSwitchNearHeadlight125.jpg Since my fridge doesn't cu...

Toggle switch near right headlight

Hi. On my 1999 190 the body shop reports a toggle switch near the right headlight. Does anyone know if that is a Ford switch or an Airstream switch and what it is for?

I might get a photo of it in the morning. If I do I'll post it.

Thanks for any tips!

Re: Newbie worried about charging laptops

The factory 12 volt battery charger has been known to overcharge the 12 volt house battery sometimes. The reason is that the factory charger only charges at one power level. It does not have the ability to reduce the charging rate to a trickle charge once the house battery is full. If the house bat...

Re: 1999 model holding tanks

skater, that sounds like a good approach to keep in mind. We'll see as we go along which tank we tend to fill up first, and how often we're not hooked up. These later models have much larger grey water tanks (27.5g) than black (9g).

Re: 1999 model holding tanks

Ah, yes, Mark. I hadn't thought about the likelihood of a post-factory modification to the system. It does seem more likely that the original system must have become damaged or worn and rebuilt as it is now. Between your photo and explanation, and the factory below-floor plumbing diagram, I think I'...

First season in 1999 B190 in Denver, Colorado

Hi, all. My wife and I bought our 1999 B190 in December, in great condition, and nicely equipped. I'm pretty impressed with the approach Airstream (Thor) took when building and equipping these motorhomes. We are now getting ready for our first trip. It was going to be this weekend, but circumstances...

1999 model holding tanks

Hi, all. New 190 owner, and new to this group. I look forward to gleaning a lot of information and, hopefully, contributing some eventually. This will be our first season with our 1999 190, and I have yet to find any other 190's or owners with the same holding tank dump set up that we have. I've had...
