Re: B190 database
I don't know if I ever sent in my info. So here it is: 1991 Vin- 1FDHS34G7LHB84165 I think I'm the 3rd owner and I've had it since Sept 2014. I think it spent all its life in AZ until I bought it. It had 36K on it then, it now has just under 70K and will have more by the time I complete this trip in...

Re: Whacky guages
Yes, I checked the thread you sent and it is called an ICVR which stands for instrument cluster voltage regulator. When it starts to fail the 3 instruments in question get whacky. It included a part number and said they were used on Econoline's through 91. When it stops correcting itself I'll use th...

That's what I'm thinking. It is foggy today so I'll give an update. Will be a head scratcher.

Whacky guages
I tend to glance at my guages regularly while driving and yesterday while crossing a high bridge in heavy traffic I had a rising panic as I noticed my temp guage was peaked. Then I saw the oil pressure was maxed out and the gas guage, which I knew was @ 3/4 a minute before was laying way beyond full...

Re: Oscillating Sway
I had a very similar experience when I first drove mine. Some of it is learning to drive it and some of the sway or wander seems to be the nature of the beast. After making sure there wasn't anything mechanically wrong I did what a number of people on this site did and started upgrading and adding t...

Re: Low voltage disconnect?
What I have been told is that deep cycle batteries are not designed to give the burst of voltage needed to turn over an engine, but rather give a smaller amount over a longer period of time. It is possible to replace a deep cycle with a car battery for use in the van for lights, pump etc, but I don'...

Re: New Owner New England
From another New England owner, welcome. Had the same experience about play in the steering when I picked up mine but after many addons, all of which you will find links to on this site, it drives almost like a truck. White knuckles no more. Good luck!

Re: Starting my search!
Good luck, Vermonter. I'm travelling till April but reside in Burlington with a 91 so not sure where you are but would be glad to share ideas. I went to Phoenix with a one-way plane ticket and brought mine back. Lots done over the last 3 years but I found help on most projects through this site. I'v...

Happy New Year to all on this site. Hope we might come across one another somewhere down the road. And I especially want to say how greatful I am to Skater and Alaskan for all they have done to create a site that is so helpful and informative. I have probably thanked them privately 50 times during t...

This is another example of how great this site is to those of us who never let the fact that we don't know what we are doing get in the way of trying. Thanks!'

This is what I found when I popped out the side window. window rust 2 (640x480).jpg The plastic bag was to keep debris from sanding the rust out of the van. I put 2 coats of POR on before reinstalling and I used 3/4" butyl tape which came out fine. I just followed the directions in other thread...
