Don't think it was 92- my 94 has the upper vent on the side, not on the roof. I've also got the fan with the thermostatic trigger, but my fridge had been replaced before I bought the van, so I'm not sure if it's original or not

Off the road!

Just got back from a 2 month trip- 7700 miles and the van did great! PA to WV to Ontario to Colorado and back to PA, dry camping the whole time. Other than needing the brake rotors turned, the tires rotated, and the oil changed, there's really nothing I'll have to do to the van before it goes back o...

Generally unanswerable question

So here's a pretty much unanswerable question- What's the life expectancy on one of these vans? I'm wondering at what point it's "too old" to put a lot of work/money into the van. My van is a 1994 with 125k miles on it, had a new transmission about 15k ago, engine runs well, and seems to b...

I've actually pulled it most of the way out (short of disconnecting the fuel lines, etc) myself trying to see if there was anything I could do. Wasn't really much of a hassle. and I was surprised how easily it went back in too. The genset runs great, other than the two problems I mentioned, both of ...

There's really no obvious fuse on mine- and no non-obvious fuse that's obvious enough that I can find it. The circuit breaker is labeled and obvious, but no sign of any sort of fuse. It makes me wonder if, during my previous attempt to get it fixed, if they replaced the control board with the wrong ...

Mine doesn't seem to have the fuse, and circuit breaker was on... I think I need "professional help"

The start/stop switch will start it but won't stop it. The only way I've found to turn it off it to take out the air filter and plug the air intake until it stops
I'll have to double check the circuit breaker/fuse

I can usually get through a DVD on the TV one battery, but there's not much left. My current thought is that I'd like to get the genny fixed, and try and add a second battery somewhere else... but I'm on the road for a few months, so it'll all have to wait anyway

looks like its near ready to come completely apart... at freeway speed that could be an ugly experience I came very, very close to having that happen. Fortunately, the vibration got so bad I couldn't maintain highway speed. When I finally stopped, the tire was mostly bald, wavy, and had a few spots...

My first goal would be to see what I can do with the 12 volt realm before sizing an inverter. (For example, I have a 12 volt adapter for my laptop - it doesn't make sense to go 12 volt -> 120 volt -> 16 volts - you lose efficiency every time.) I've tried to optimize things for 12 volt, but keep run...

Tell me about inverters

So here's the deal- my generator is on the fritz- It would start and run as long as I held the start switch, but as soon as I let off the switch, it would turn off. I took it to a local shop, and they replaced the control board on the generator- now it'll start and run on it's own, but doesn't seem ...

Yep, every time. And frankly, I agree with it. I mean, ever hear of ground clearance? It seems like I have to get out the leveler blocks every other time to jack up the right side of the van just so they can get the hose hooked up...
