Re: Tips for spark plug removal?!?
All the advice has helped! Thanks all. I removed an air vent behind the battery, and that opened up a bunch of space on the passenger side. Should be able to get my hands on those. The driver's side is gonna be the bear... Sprayed some PB Blaster to help loosen them up. Got my plugs and parts - weat...

Tips for spark plug removal?!?
Ok - getting ready to undertake the tune-up on the beast. 3 of these plugs look quite difficult to get to! This is my first foray into this experience - not just on the van, but in general - so any tips are appreciated! Most forward on driver's side looks like it can be gotten to from under the hood...

Re: Fuse on back of control board?
Yep - that will be completely different than the pic I posted! The letter at the very end of the Model number will tell you the "Spec", or Revision, of the gennie. Look for the parts catalog for your model and there should be a nice breakout diagram in there. Also - check out http://www.fl...

Re: Fuse on back of control board?
Probably shoulda mentioned...
Check out the http://www.smokstak.com/ forums. I was able to find the Service Manual and Parts Catalog for the first revision of the gennie - couldn't find it anywhere else. Lots of good Onan info there!

Re: Window behind couch
Bah. I can't remember. Pretty sure there was wood on the sides and the bottom - can't remember if there was any up top. Although, I don't see any problems with wood all around...

Re: Moving Toilet for "Wet Bath" Arrangement
The toilet is directly over the black water tank - it plumbs directly into the top of the black tank. The grey tank inlet is under the bathtub housing. Moving the toilet would require either changing the black tank, or plumbing from wherever the toilet ends up to the middle of the van for the existi...

Re: Fuse on back of control board?
Have you tried a different battery? I *just* had a similar experience. The gennie starter would click a few times, but zero "crank". My house battery said it was at 12.8, which is fine. Pulled my Hyundai next to the van and used jumper cables to connect to the gennie - started right up! Ha...

Re: Window behind couch
I had to reseal all of my windows last year - same issue with random caulk jammed down around the edges, etc... Remove the window frame inside the van (lots of screws), then pull it out from the outside - just lots of butyl rubber like the previous post said. Clean it all up, line it with some butyl...

Re: Fridge only works on propane
I have a newer Dometic 3-Way, and that has two separate heating elements - one for 12V operation, and another 120V. I don't think the propane mode uses the heating elements - pretty sure it's the flame that heats everything up for that mode... So, possibly a bad 120V heating element? Why it's not wo...

Re: Humming coming from under fuse panel
The wheel on the cable shouldn't affect anything. Wouldn't worry about that. The fan doesn't necessarily mean your converter is going bad - but could mean the fan is! I remember with mine, one day it was just really noticeable. I want to say it runs when the house battery is charging (ie: lots of cu...

Re: Humming coming from under fuse panel
You're referring to the DC converter under the couch? There is a cooling fan in there that can get pretty loud.

Re: LP Detectors - Useful Life?
There is definitely a life span on them! Don't remember what I read... but I remember mine being over the recommendation (at 25yrs) I replaced with an Atwood that does CO2 and propane. A little smaller than the one that came with my B, so I had to make a little frame for it to keep it pretty, but it...
