Re: Upgrade converter, add bat. bank & trimetric monitor
All of this is super interesting, but well above my knowledge. One comment, though: I converted the drawer to an open storage area by simply removing the oak front panel from the drawer (no need to even destroy the drawer), flipping it 180 degrees, a couple of hinges and a catch gave me a large stor...

Re: 1993 awning opening question
I have a 93 as well, with a Horizon 22' awning. I explored the same, looking for a screen room to fit my unit. It was not made with this as an option. The only option to get a real screen room, was to purchase a new awning that was specifically make with a screen room, and even then the dealers were...

Re: New Bilstein Shocks
Finally got my new shocks installed-- What a difference, much better ride, certainly less toss and sway. Glad I finally did it. I'm the second owner, mechanic is fairly certain it still had the original shocks on it. Also said they were a pain in the a** to remove, but he was used to it, as all ford...

Re: New Bilstein Shocks
Thanks much-- just ordered them. Planning to have my mechanic install them. Looking forward to a nicer ride! 93, 35K miles, but I'm sure the original's are toast!

Re: New Bilstein Shocks
Looking to replace my shocks. Do you have a part number for the Blistine's? What retailer did you buy them from?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?
The cord is wired to an electrical box on the underside of the tub. This area is accessed from the left back door, and an access hole that leads to the underside of the tub. I would doubt your problems route all the way back to the converter box. I would look here first to see if the connections are...

Re: Good Cheap Food ideas for road trip
We have only used our oven for baking cookies!-- other than that, it stores our frying pans and the cookie sheet. Your storage cubby, I'm sure-- fits a lot more. As good as home baked cookies are, you can buy some pretty good ones these days

Re: Good Cheap Food ideas for road trip
I did a 2 week trip thru the Canadian Maritime's 2 years ago. We were not sure what we would have for food options, both grocery and dining out for options. We planned with portioned meats (chicken breasts, hamburgers, pork tenderloin etc) packaged in ziplock freezer bags and stuffed the freezer-- i...

Re: Alternate flooring
I did this with the self adhesive tiles, but I don't remember if it was one box or 2-- sorry. I would however recommend doing the bath room as well, though-- it looks much better and makes sweeping much easier without having a seam or metal strip. To me, it also makes the van feel just a little bit ...

Re: Smelly Water
Water stored in the tank has to be treated-- there are usually several options available from walmart or your local dealer. If you have the smell already, I would suggest filling the tank, mixing in a few ounces of bleach. Drain the tank, both with the drain valve, and thru all faucets-- repeat, the...

Re: attaching roof rack (THULE) to 190 B
I do not know what the sizes are for a stand up surf board. I carry 2 kayaks up there all the time, one on each side between the AC and the existing roof rack. I use ratchet tie downs (4) hooking them to the bases of the roof rack. For my kayaks, they settle down mostly below the height of the front...
