Re: Microwave

Has anyone taken out the microwave? I don't need or want it but don't see a way to get rid of it other than tearing out cabinetry or perhaps through the vent on the outside? Anyone have any microwave insight? I've always thought it was just held in by a strip of wood in front of the back legs. I fi...

The pre-92 or '93 models had two fuel tanks - a 15 gallon in the front (well, midships) and 22 gallon tank in the rear. You should have both...if one is missing you're not going to have much range. There should be a switch on the bottom of the dash, to the left of the steering wheel, to select betwe...

Finally got some pictures of the new Airstream posted...my wife was taking some on the journey to pick it up, so there are quite a few that don't actually have a new Airstream in them. :)

So everything worked out - got the trailer inspected, registered, the cap on the truck, and thanks to Erica's hard work getting the camper ready while I was in SA, we made it to the campground only a bit later than we'd hoped. Having a great weekend. New camper is working pretty well, a few minor is...

Re: sorry

Thanks everyone! Skater, thats good news and bad news, hope you enjoy but what about the cougar??? you going to be a double tow or what. Nah, no doubles. The only event that I really want to have the Cougar for is CougarFest, but even that has gotten to the point where a Cougar is no longer required...

Well, the time has come...

The time has come - Erica and I brought home a new Airstream travel trailer today! It's a '95 30' Excella. Gorgeous trailer. We love it already. I'll get some pictures posted later. We bought a 2006 F-250 diesel a couple weeks ago to tow it with. The rig felt great coming home. We'll be putting the ...

No stop lights?

I can't even begin to imagine.

Let's see some pictures! :)

What gauges did you get? Trans temp and what else?

Transmission temperature is a must have. I had the shop install one when I got my new transmission. I've never seen it go above 180, but - hey, now I KNOW what's going on down there. Worth every penny.

In our case, we were able to localize it to "happens when I turn quickly while braking" - i.e., I'm probably driving a bit too aggressively. I've since learned to just be a little more cautious and I only rub once in a blue moon.

Re: Brakes on our 190's

I am not all that happy with the brakes in these vans, i have a late model 1 ton truck that has awesome brakes, disc in the rear is huge and I may some day look into adding them to my B190. The brakes do the job in the van but IMHO are just on the weak side seeing the vans are near 10k pounds. I'm ...

I agree Skater, but if the van already has the Ford system, all you need is the Fob, which still might cost more than an aftermarket system. But, there are a lot of nice built in features if you do have the Ford system. Oh, yeah, if it already has the module, then buying the fob is probably pretty ...

Instead of trying to get the Ford system, I'd just install an aftermarket system (Viper, and plenty of others) - probably much cheaper and easier in the long run, plus you can add an alarm, remote start, etc.

If it's leaking out the pressure relief valve, why not just replace the valve for ~$20? They do go bad, and any RV parts store should have one.

That's pretty sad. I'm glad you were able to save him, though.
