To make hosting images easier, when you post a message you'll now see a box for Imageshack that will allow you to quickly upload pictures to them to display here.
To use it, when composing a message, click the Browse... button and double click the image you want, then click "Host it" to upload it. The Imageshack site will come up in a new window, and you can copy the text in the first box (entitled "Hotlink for forums (1)") and paste it into the message you are composing to have the image displayed.
It's easier than it sounds, trust me.
You can disable the ImageShack link if you wish (since it can take a moment to load) by clicking on Profile, then selecting the option to disable it under Preferences.
Enjoy!

Try this again....now that I read your instructions...
(1) " Thumbnail for forums ".....
The problem I see is you can't display pictures at 640x480 directly in a forum post......

You have to copy the correct link! The one that says "Hotlink for forums (1)" produces the following:
ImageShack requests you use the Thumbnail links (also given on the page when you upload the picture), and that's fine, too.

There are 2 set of links I see now...
Was there an option in the upload to re-size ?? didn't see that
In photobucket.com you have several upload size options....I only use the 640x480 as it fits forum posts w/o stretching the forum out in width....like this picture below
1 set for Thumbnails and another set for full size pictures.....ya gotta scan down below your picture to see the second set of links
