I am 6'2" and got rid of the ladder years ago. I stand on the sofa, usually open by bedtime and climb up. In the morning I slide backwards and drop my legs until my feet touch the sofa.

I also got rid of the ladder and replaced it with a small folding step stool. To get in I go step stool, couch, counter, and then bed. Reverse to get down

Re: best way to get out of overhead bed
Since you had no problem getting into the bed the best way to get out is to install a bannister rail from bed ending between the refrigerator and stove. Slide down the rail and Plop onto the toilet as this is your first destination when getting out of bed.

At 6 foot +, what the heck do you do up there once you get there? I'm 5'2" and find it cramped up there!

The overhead bunk overhung the front windshield further in the earlier designs of the B190. Even at 5'2" and sleeping diagonally across the bunk, my feet are touching one corner and my head is almost touching the other corner.

...even with the bed "drawer" pulled completely open?

Re: best way to get out of overhead bed
I am 6' 200lbs and sleep with my head to the rear of the RV so my feet are up by the window, getting out is a bit tricky when there is 2 up there but worth the extra effort I do the sofa counter method getting up and reverse getting down, way easier than the ladder.

Re: best way to get out of overhead bed
We always used the ladder. Hard on the feet, I know. Especially at 3 a.m. when the furnace conked out and it was 50 degrees in the camper.
I did climb up via the couch a couple times, but my wife (at 5'2") couldn't use that method, so we needed the ladder anyway.
Usually the cat jumped up from the kitchen counter.
