Driver's side storage door gasket

Post by Mark »

The door to the storage compartment behind the driver is not very well designed. any water hitting the side of the rig slides down the sides and into the compartment. It looks like someone has tried to add a gasket on top of the old gasket but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have a sure fire way to seal that door? What kind of rubber gasket would I be looking for?

Is this the "generator compartment" on the driver side of the vehicle?
That door frame extends about 1.5" back into the compartment, where it's riveted to the body. The exposed frame on the outside should have some kind of caulking/sealant behind it - between the frame and the body of the vehicle. If that is gone, water will run down the side of the van, behind the door frame, and into the compartment.
Possibly your issue?!?!

Thanks, but not that one, the long storage compartment just below the generator.
