Shower Curtain Rust Stain Removal

Our original shower curtain had horrible rust stains all over. My wife was searching for a replacement when she came across a technique to remove them. Yeah, right. I was HIGHLY skeptical but was floored as she proceeded to remove even the heaviest of stains.
I’m sorry I did not take a photo of the curtain before she started the cleaning. The stains were truly all over and very dark. The key is to add these ingredients in the right order. First, she doused the stains with lemon juice - fresh squeezed since we are in Southern California - the lemon juice loosen the rust bonds with the fabric.
Second, douse with vinegar. Vinegar is the cleaning agent in this mix.
Third, add generous amounts of salt. Salt is the gentle abrasive agent to scrub out the stain.
She used her hands to scrub the stain out but it’s okay to use a soft brush. When she finished getting out the stains, she rinse the curtain in warm soapy water. Then into the washing machine for a final wash. Line dry is preferred.
