Surge protectors or only indicators
I've been looking at surge protectors lately to add to the camper, either permanently mounted or portable. Some customer comments on Amazon say that the ones around the the $100 price range are only indicators, not actually protectors that shut off and reset after detecting low power or surges. Some comments say that the indicator types are labeled as protectors though they only check wiring polarity or voltage and are sacrificial if an actual surge occurs. Apparently, you have to pay about $250 to get something that protects and resets. Does anyone have any advice on this matter?
