Hello all,
After finding a cracked original alloy rim in 2014, I replaced the back two wheels with steel wheels. I have a cracked front rim today and will replace the two fronts, again with steel wheels.
My rig is a 1993. On a search I have not found a mention of this problem since my 2014 post.

Where did it crack? Did the two rims both crack in the same place?

Yikes, that's scary. I guess it is getting near 30 years old, but still...

Re: Another cracked original rim
Hey there,
The first cracked in 2014 - a rear one. The last was a front - 2020. They both cracked "inside" the rim where a spoke meets the outer rim. Maybe related to severe hot and cold cycles in NM. First crack was at 79,000 miles, second at !35,000.
