AC leak
Yeah, I'm a woman and don't always understand what everyone's talking about, but I have learned a lot on this site. Now I have another question. I bought my 1996 from a friend and I believe she replaced the AC about four years ago. When I bought the rig I had everything on top and some of the windows recaulked. Just before I took it in to be winterized I noticed water dripping down from the AC when it rained. The guy who winterized it said there was a gasket missing on the AC. Does this sound reasonable? Also, does anyone have any idea what I should expect to have that gasket replaced? Appreciate any input I receive. Thanks.

Re: AC leak
There is a foam gasket that should be in place between the ac and the roof to prevent leakage. They're not very expensive (web search says $12-30). Here's a link that talks about ac leaks. http://bryantrv.com/roofacleaks.html
Hope this helps

Thank you. The site was very informative. I wish I could take care of it myself, but at least now I have an understanding of what is going on. I really appreciate the info.

Re: AC leak
Don't feel bad - I'm not sure it's a job I would tackle. I'm pretty sure you have to remove the air conditioner to replace the gasket. Slightly easier on the B190 with easy access to the roof, but the A/C unit still weighs over 100 lbs.Lou0403 wrote:Thank you. The site was very informative. Re: AC leak
I was just up on my roof, watching lap sealant self level... it's quite exciting!
With everything freshly resealed, I'm SERIOUSLY contemplating replacing my AC seal as well, simply because it's old and I've replaced pretty much everything else on this beast.
Has anyone here done the removal and reinstallation?!? Any motivational war stories would be appreciated!
