Re: Van won't shut off

I'm sorry for just now answering this, I sold the van a while back. If I remember correctly, it was a common part with the F150 trucks. I think I bought a used one online. I know this is a vague answer but might point you in the right direction.

Van won't shut off

I turned off the key and the van kept running. For real. After my issue with the wipers not turning off I was like "Really?" I didn't know what to do so I just kept switching the thing back and forth and it finally shut off. Then I noticed my dash lights would barely flicker off and on wit...

Re: Wipers won't shut off

Thanks for showing this. I'm staying at what I mentioned above for now. I just fixed another problem with my ignition switch.

Re: Wipers won't shut off

Still looking into this. Changing to a simple toggle switch was more complicated than I thought. So, I scrapped that idea. I believe the issue is in the Wiper Motor Governor. This is a black box that is part of the harness that connects the switch to the main harness. There are three hot wires that ...

Re: Wipers won't shut off

Latest update... Went to the Ford house to order a new switch. It is now an obsolete Ford part, they no longer can get it. So, I found one on Ebay and ordered it. Waited about a week for it to come in, got it today. Went out and swapped the old for the new and... it's not the switch. Bummer. I'm goi...

Re: Batteries linked?

Found this old post and thought I'd update. I installed a switch, in-line, on the wire that connects the two batteries. I mounted it on the dash in side. This way I can charge both batteries while driving and isolate the two batteies when I'm camped.

Re: Wipers won't shut off

Mine has the switch on the dash, to the left of the Speedo, above the A/C vent. I went to the Ford house and they told me that switch is an obsolete part, they no longer stock it. I found one on Ebay and ordered it last night. I'll post up if that fixes it or not. Hopefully this won't turn into a co...

Wipers won't shut off

I have a 1990 model. This weekend while driving in intermittent rain I turned the wipers off and they just kept going. They now only work on high and low but will not stop unless I turn the vehicle off. Any idea's?

Re: 460/7.5 engine surgeing and stalling

Mine did the same thing. I just replaced the fuel pumps and so far, so good. My exhaust was replaced first but I still had the stalling. One time i stalled right in an intersection, blocking traffic and waving people around...funny now but not then!

Re: What is this?

Got a new one from the local Ford house, $38.00. Works like a charm.

Next is new fuel pumps, both tanks.

Re: ATF spew, and what to do?

Had the same thing happen to my F350...twice. I put a temp gauge and larger transmission cooler on it 10k miles back, no problems. I flushed the tranny too. Seems common with that transmision. I also carry a gallon of ATF just in case! I plan on adding a cooler to my B190.

Re: Batteries linked?

Thanks, I'll check for that. Update: If there is a cable connecting the two, it is not in an obvious place. From what I can see, there is a solenoid in front of the passenger side battery (truck/engine?) and another solenoid to the side of the drivers side battery (house?). Both positive terminals c...

Re: What is this?

Makes sense. I thought the tranny had OD but I was looking for a button on the gearshifter.

Thanks

Re: Pre 92 Battery information request.

Reviving this old post,

What did you do to properly isolate this? I'm a little confused on how it should be set up.

Batteries linked?

Went out to start the van and the battery was too low. Both batteries look old so I’m not too concerned, I’m going to replace them both anyway. What is curious is I checked the voltage of both of them, and they were identical, 9.7 volts. Having had campers before, I thought both batteries should be ...
