Re: Before I add SOLAR...

I’m pretty sure the wire is 10ga. I have an Aurstream manual with specs for wiring from I think a ‘94. One of the diagrams depicts the converter box and wiring for for the fuses. I believe they also reference the wire for the solar panel positive from the roof, which terminates in the fuse panel, as...

Re: High mileage B-190s out there?

I acquired my 93 B190 in 2009 with about 58,000 miles. I currently have 109,000 miles on my B190 averaging about 7,000 miles per year. I have had no breakdowns while traveling and it appears to be in good shape. The only real problems I've had are with a leaky transmission after a fluid change and r...

Re: '93 under hood batteries

Alan, on the '93 you are correct. The Group 65 battery on the drivers side is the engine battery and the battery on the passenger side is the coach battery which is a Group 50.

Re: Interior lights dont work.

Ok so you have a lot going on here and I hesitate to recommend anything. But, Bob you are correct. The cut white wire if you follow it exits the floor behind the distribution center and attaches to the frame of the b190 thus grounding the system. Without it no 12v systems will function properly. I a...

Re: Interior lights dont work.

Chris, thanks for added info. I encourage you to spend whatever time and money is required to put together a wiring diagram of existing components before you proceed. Without this, you stand the chance of destroying thousands of dollars worth of equipment, potentially starting fires and maybe even c...

Re: Interior lights dont work.

Well I have some thoughts on what might be happening but before I send you on random tests and searches can you help all of us understand what your current setup looks like. I gather from some of your other posts you have done quite a bit of electrical work, like a large battery bank, solar panels a...

Re: Power Enough

I have a 93 B190 with the 460. I get a consistent 10 mpg uphill, downhill or level ground. Sometimes it does a little better but 10mpg is very consistent. I live in Kansas City and spend most of the summer in Oregon and Washington. I've made the trip to and from the coast the last 6 years. My route ...

Re: Ignition feed to fridge relay?

I had issues with 12v fridge operation and went on a search for where the relay get its ignition current from. You might check this post out it may give you some useful information. http://b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1329 In the end, I finally got the fridge to work on 12v but given its perform...

Re: replacing 12V bulbs un cabinets and above bunk

I took a different approach to upgrading the lights to LEDs. I decided to replace the fixtures above the couch, under the bunk and in the bathroom to Thin-Lite LED312-1 (cost approximately $35 each) and the one in front of the AC with a Thin-Lite 652 LED (approximately $75). The old fixtures were sh...

Re: Camping Season Start-up Checklist ;)

RV PRE SEASON STARTUP ACTIVITIES Here's my list of pre season startup activities. This is by no means comprehensive. My B190 spends the winter in a limestone cave where the temperatures never get below 60 degrees so I perform no winterization activities in the fall and only an abbreviated set of sta...

Re: Replacing the converter

Here's the link to the approach I took to replace the converter and add solar panels and batteries. http://b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1481 I hope this helps. I travel all summer and this setup has been used for the last 2 years. It all works great. If you have any questions give me a shout. Go...

Re: Satellite Dish

You might cut some 2' X 2' squares out of 1/2" plywood and use them to distribute your weight across the roof top. I've never been up on top, not fond of heights, but I have had some RV techs up there to replace vents and add solar panels and haven't had any roof damage so far. You might call a...

Re: Coach battery size under hood?? 94

On my 93 B190 it's a BCI Group 50 battery. I'm pretty sure the 94 B190 is the same. A group 50 battery is 13.5 x 5.0 x 10.0 inches. It's not a common size and not easily found a normal auto parts store. I bought one last year from Interstate batteries I think the cost was about $150. Even though I h...

Re: How does the refer work?

The reflector will show a very faint blue flame when it is on. It is almost impossible to see it if there is any light in the RV. You can close all the curtains and hope it is dark enough or check at night when it is dark in the RV. Another way to get an inferred "on" signal is to place a ...
