Re: B190 roof swap

Great project -- are you planning to install the B vans interior as well?

Re: B190 database

I don't believe I've ever taken the time to submit my VIN's. Here are my details:

Steve Lucas & Mark Carmien
Northampton MA
1993, current odometer is 49,001 miles

VIN: 1FDJS34G9PHA24912
Airstream VIN: 1B9KGVA2XPJ300514

We are the second owners, purchased from the originals in 2008

Re: 97 Concord NC

A lot to like about this one! A lot of very nice upgrades and updates. Really love the look of the front end. Owning a 93, I'm sure I would not like the smaller upper bed and the microwave is way too big, but a lot to like.

Re: 96 Portland OR

Sure would be nice if it actually sold for $30K, but I doubt it. I thought by the 96 model year, all were of the new bath and shorter front overhang?? Perhaps I'm wrong. Looks like a fairly clean example though.

Re: Does the 1994 B190 have an OBD-II port?

I can't speak specifically about our van's, but I believe OBD II was not mandatory on vehicles until the 1996 model year. While I think some manufactures stared implementing as early as 1994, those would likely have been on newly designed vehicles, not ones that had been around for a few years.

Re: Replacing Windows & Business Negligence

What a horrific experience! So sorry. I'm in New England, so can't be much help except to say I feel for you! Hope you can work thru to get your van back in good shape.

Re: shields up!

I don't believe these are biodegradable -- I can't say what long term exposure to the sun will do, but I've looked at the rolled stuff at the big box stores -- looks the same to me.

Re: shields up!

There does not seem to be any kind of stamp on the "Blue Apron" bags to determine what kind of plastic they are. They are pretty thick, would seem to me that they would last, and are of the same thickness as what is sold at Home Depot or Lowes. I have 3 of them at the moment, happy to send...

Re: shields up!

Off the wall comment but... should anyone want to duplicate this for less money and perhaps a little bit more work, I may be able to help. I'm a "Blue Apron" customer, and every week, the food delivery comes in insulated bubble wrap bags, foil lined on the outside. The size of the bags wol...

Re: Microwave Replacement, or keep&clean this junker?

I don't believe these were anything special. I've seen several units, don't think any of them had the same brand or even style. I would expect, Airstream installed what they could get for the space that was available, nothing more. I've not removed mine, but never use it for anything more than stora...

Re: Inition coil

Replaced mine with an aftermarket part. Can't remember the brand, so can't speak about the brand you found. It failed the next year, back to a genuine Ford part (don't recall it being that expensive) -- been great so far. Mine would only fail driving in 80 plus degrees and when the engine and tranny...

Re: Under Couch Drawer Conversion

I believe I am the original post -- one of my first modifications, have never regretted it! My only change from the original, was that I ended up converting to 2 catches-- the catch was not quite strong enough to prevent the occasional shift of stuff in the cabinet (mostly folding chairs for outside...

Re: Overhead Cab Length

I own a 93, with the larger overhang, and have never personally been inside a later model, so just my opinion looking at pictures of the later models. On my 93 the dimensions work out to close to a king size width and a queen size lenght. With the later models and the shorter overhangs, the cabinets...

Re: The 1992 B190 in my driveway.

Nice looking rig. I'm curious about the black... not sure what to call them, "patches" at the bottom corners of the upper front window and the black strip that runs the length of the van below the upper windows. Decoration, or are they serving a purpose?

Thanks!
