Re: removing fridge vent
Our B190 had the same zig-zag piece of sheet metal on the roof between the AC and the refrigerator vent. If you are completely removing the old refrigerator vent, I would remove the piece of sheet metal on the roof too. I feel certain it was intended to block air from the AC backflowing down the ref...

Yep, that B190 looks good! We have an Interstate now but we really liked our B190! Keep up the good work. It’s always fun to see a B190 on the road - paticularly when they look as nice as yours.

Re: Running AC off of an inverter and alternator?
If the AC requires 100A of 12VDC power I suspect it might be possible to run it via an alternator. If Ford doesn’t make an alternator with sufficiently high output there are alternatives... there are made-in-America alternators from aftermarket companies that output 140A (possibly even 200A). I’ve h...

Keep looking they are out there but it takes time. We found ours through the local WBCCI club. When we sold it was turnkey including hoses, cords, leveling blocks, etc.

Re: 1997 B190 Leakey fresh water fill hose
Our 1998 had a similar problem when we bought it a few years ago. Don't know how similar you 1997 is to our '98. I was able to access the hose clamp on top of the fresh water tank. It took some doing and some contortions on my park. I had to put the rear of the van on jack stands so I could manage t...

Re: Running Board Mod
I am not very familiar with earlier model B190's (we had a 1998) but it appears the step area for the side doors extends farther to the rear compared to the 1998 model we owned. If that's true, and if that's where the propane fill is located, it may be difficult to cut a door to access the propane f...

We sold our B190 so we'll be attending in our 1992, 29' Classic. We are attending the WDCU pre-rally and going in with WDCU. Are you?

Re: Humming coming from under fuse panel
it must have been the fan since it was a bit hot out. The humming eventually went away and the converter seems to be working fine. thanks for all the help. Glad the noise disappeared. However, as others have suggested, you may have the original single-stage converter/charger. If so, you should give...

Re: 1999 34k Miles for sale on eBay :-)
1st auction - $25,000 - the reserve was not met but was adjusted to accept the $25,000 bid. However, the sale did not go through for some reason. 2nd auction - $22,200 - the reserve was not met 3rd auction - $20,600 - the reserve was not met Hmmm.... I see a trend here. Maybe the seller needs to try...

Re: Rear Suspension Modifications
Alaskan, Hope your son heals and recovers soon. I wish I had come across this thread a year ago. This kit looks like just the ticket to solve the sagging rear end problem we experienced with our 1998 B190. We had a great time in that van (sold it recently) and a few inches of added clearance at the ...

Re: Staying in rest areas?
The link Skater provided in post #1 is inactive so I was not able to read the article. I can imagine some of the things mentioned in the article - everything from panhandling, to noisy environment, and police officers asking you to move. A friend of ours stayed at a Cracker Barrel and found himself ...

Re: Winegard crank up antenna
Thanks for the description and helpful hints. This is a good upgrade for anyone who wants improved reception for over-the-air signals. I'll try to send a PM with my email address so you can send a few pictures. However, B190.com has been "holding" my PM's for several days or longer before ...

Hello BobandDeb,
Welcome to B190.com. Sounds like you've made some interesting and useful upgrades to your B190. I am particularly interested in the crank-up antenna project. If you have pictures or a description/steps please consider starting a new thread on the subject.

Re: 1999 34k Miles for sale on eBay :-)
When I first became aware of this van on eBay I added it to my "watch" list. First the van sold but the deal was not completed for some reason. The second time the bids did not reach the reserve. Now the van is listed for the third time. This has been going on since mid-May. In a few days ...

Re: Newbie in CA
Hi Erica, Did you find a B190? They're out there but hard to find and finding one in good condition can sometimes be difficult. We looked at one and talked on the phone to sellers of a few other vans before we finally found one we liked. We live in the southeast U.S. and recently sold our van to a y...
