Re: couch locked up
The couch bottom lifts up, but it swings forward and the back stays at the couch angle rather than laying out flat to make up a bed

couch locked up
Something has happened to the couch mechanism in my 89 B. It used to unlock from the couch configuration and lay down to a bed. Now it will not unlock to form a bed. It is likely something simple in the mechanism, but there is little room to investigate how that mechanism is supposed to operate. Has...

Re: Fuel Tank Switch Question...
I have long dealt with fuel problems. My 89 Airstream B by Okanagan is very close to your 88, though I have noticed many of the Okanagans of an earlier vintage were on an E250 chassis rather than the E350. My front tank is 15 gallons and the back is 20 gallons. neither gauge worked, and I had proble...

Re: Chasing Water Leaks
Thanks. I had been in a rut, thinking only how to control water from the hose while looking for a leak and envisioning substantial water clean up issues. I hadn't thought about using the internal system. Someone can stand by the pump switch while I am checking pipes in those tight spaces where they ...

Stuck Waste Gate Valve
While inspecting under the chassis, I noticed that the dump valve at the black water tank was open. I think I left it open to drain the sink a year ago when all of the rest of the fresh water system as not in service. I tried to close the valve and there was resistance. I am thinking of some lubrica...

Chasing Water Leaks
I was wondering if any one had a special process for detecting water leaks that are not obvious. Last year I hooked up a hose up to the outside access on my 1989 B and turned on the water. Immediately there was water coming out under the house apparently in the area under the cabinets making its way...

Re: Gray vs Black water tanks
I stumbled on this looking to deal with a black water tank shut off valve. My 89 has grey water by pass that will shunt it off of the black water system in the cabinet over the hot water tank and sends it to the deck and across to collect the bathtub drain and then into the section of the waste syst...

Re: Replacing the converter
If the problem is the converter I can do no better than recommend this post https://www.b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=839 the top of the electrical. I had several problems with fried battery. The installation was relatively easy. My van is a 89, so yours may be different. I have had no problems s...

Re: Fuse for bunk lights?
If you find the answer, Let me know. My B190 is an 89 and I have non working bunk lights as well. The previous owner wired a reading light over the couch behind the drivers seat. I have not been able to trace the wires to that light back to its source. I suspect that the new light might have disconn...

Re: Cooling
Finally had a pressure test, which confirmed all things normal except the need to replace the water pump. I had this done as when I was over the the open engine compartment, I could hear noises from the shaft in the water pump. I do have a related question concerning whether anyone has installed a c...

Re: Fuel mileage
The only real problem with the poor gas mileage is that it is difficult to carry enough fuel in remote areas. One has to carefully plan around available gas stations and when possible where the cheapest gas is.

I forgot to mention, that there appears to be little leakage of coolant when the vehicle is cooled down and stationary.

Cooling
Last year on a trip that covered The Olympic National Park and the SW Vancouver Island back country I experienced overheating problems and a leak of coolant under pressure. It may or may not be related to problems I have experienced in the past when overheating seemed to impact the flow of fuel from...

Re: Bye, bye sewer hose door
I will be interested in the pictures. My 89 compartment opening will not fit connection to the dump in the small space provided. The configurations may be different. I would be interested in how all of this fit in the available space.
