Re: Converter Amperage Choices

^Thanks. I have SLA's and I'm going to keep them separate from the engine battery. I'm probably going with the 45A model also because of the upgraded fuse board which filters the DC... (I'm not sure what that means yet, but I'll be adding a few things and it's nice to have a few extra fuse blocks). ...

Re: Converter Amperage Choices

Just picked up another project and the converter hums and starts to smell like it's burning within minutes of plugging into to shore power, then the breaker trips. Looks like I'll be swapping my converter also. I want to add a battery monitor and possibly solar as I already have a 135watt panel. Eve...

Running AC off of an inverter and alternator?

We don't have a generator. Is anyone running their rooftop AC off the main engine?

Re: 1995 B190 Full restoration

What glue do you use for the insulation and wood you are attaching to the fiberglass? (We have one that came completely gutted and I don't have the restoration skills you do :D )

Looks like yours is going to turn out good. Keep up the good work!

Generator Replacement

Hi, Ours came with the generator already removed so we are going with a honda eu2000 or similar. Most for sale are gas, but I do see propane kits for them also. Any input on how long a standard propane tank will run one? We haven't boondocked yet, but are in FL so must have a generator for a/c. and ...

1991 B190 Project

Hi guys, We are considering selling our B190 which we picked up last year as a project, but just don't have the time to be able to do a proper restoration like we had planned. The van has had new shocks installed, new waterpump, a/c system repairs, resurfaced brake drums and pads, and new power stee...

Re: Replacing the converter

I think another issue to be concerned about with multiple batteries is overloading the alternator. I would make sure all house batteries are charged up before driving as it may overload the alternator if they are both low. Being able to select one or the other should help this while driving, if hou...

Generator Electrical diagram?

Does anyone have the general hookup for the generator or wiring harness diagram? Mines disconnected and I have a bundle of wires. Does the generator provide two separate power feeds? From what I remember on the shore power side there is a converter which switches the 120v shore power to 12v to charg...

Charge Controllers and Dual Battery Systems, a touch on sola

I'm back at it again, this time with a new project... I'm looking for a solar charge controller which allows me to set the voltage ranges which will turn it on. What I need is 14v to kick it on and anything 12.7 or under to shut it off... essentially it's my built in disconnect between my aux, and m...

Low voltage disconnect?

Hi guys, I have a small project I'm working on and would like to get some input if anyone here is experienced in this. This project is on a Ford E350 van with only a single starting battery. I'm planning on replacing my main car battery with a deep cycle battery so that I can run power directly off ...

Re: Your worst nightmare scenario

Looks exactly like the one we have(maybe a bit nicer actually). We got ours no power steering, no brakes, no a/c, no interior, and bald tires and drove it 2 hours home. That was an adventure, but of course we didn't buy it for $14k... I've seen similar ones like this sell on CL for under $3k from ti...
