Re: Fresh water and drain plugs

It may not have been winterized and froze, which could lead to leaks in multiple places. Hopefully that's not the case, and it's just a limited problem.

Re: B170 in Japan

Quick summary for those from the future: Two couches, no bathroom, no upper bunk.

It's really interesting how similar it is to ours, and yet how different. Very interesting find, thank you for posting it. I wonder what Airstream VIN they used.

Re: Chasing Water Leaks

Air works in theory. For pipes you can see, some soapy water will highlight any leaks as air escapes the lines. I kind of like to go for the gusto though and use water. I’m a bit of a nut. Using the pump instead of city water is a bit easier to remove pressure when you’re ready - shut off the pump a...

I’d suggest running water through it first - I like to try the mildest solutions first.

Re: Buying it back...

I haven't updated this lately, but work has been (slowly) progressing. The replacement wooden supports are glued to the ceiling inside; the new fan is installed outside. I'm now working on the interior ceiling to get that all back together. I've decided I want to get some metal reinforcement plates ...

Re: Second alternator

Personally, I think you'd be better off just finding a high-amperage alternator instead of trying to squeeze in a second alternator.

Re: Deep cycle battery info

I think (based on my guess on which fuses you mean) it's definitely something in the van. Someone reported the Fantastic Fan might be pulling power even when it's off.

I should check that on mine, now that it's out of the van.

Re: Water Shutoff Valves

I have a question for the group.... I have a couple water shutoff valves that leak (drip) when in the open position. They don't leak when shut off. Does anyone have experience with rebuilding these? Are there readily available washers, etc.? Or is it best to replace them and if so what't the best m...

Re: Deep cycle battery info

I just replaced my coach battery in my '99. It is a group size 24 battery. The one before it was a 9a34, AGM group size 34 battery. It will also fit as its the same footprint of the 24 but about an inch smaller. I opted for a lead acid this time as the AGM burned out in less than 36 months. This is...
