Re: Will running fridge off inverter while driving cause damage?

Yes, running the generator on the road is what I meant.

The 12v mode isn’t awesome. Even the manual basically said not to expect much out of it. I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble.

Re: Will running fridge off inverter while driving cause damage?

The one thing I'd worry about is the draw on the engine electrical system. The fridge draws, say, 3 amps at 120 volts, while running, which is 360 watts, which is 30 amps at 12 volts. Add in losses due to the inverter, and I'd wonder if the engine electrical system can handle an additional 30+ amp d...

Looks like a carbon copy of my '91! Even with some of the same evidence of leaks. :(

Re: Has anyone replaced the fridge with a compressor-type? Like Vitrifrigo? Or NovaKool?

Hey, I think pretty much all of the wiring in the coach is isolated from the engine electrical by the ignition relay. That's why my solar array won't charge the engine battery. I just use a little battery tender connected directly to the engine battery when it is sitting around for more than a week...

Re: Has anyone replaced the fridge with a compressor-type? Like Vitrifrigo? Or NovaKool?

Is the black wire connected to the engine electrical system, or to the coach system? I want to install a battery maintainer, and if that black wire was connected to the engine electrical, it would simplify matters greatly.

Re: Toilet odor when driving

Is the plumbing vent pipe okay? Not clogged? Problems with that pipe can cause odors in unexpected ways.

Re: Newbie Here :)

When rear disc brakes were introduced, there were quite a few people that didn't like them because they didn't have as good of pedal feel as the drums did. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with drum brakes - older tech, but they still stop the vehicle. I'm not sure this swap would be worth the ef...

Congratulations and welcome! I haven't heard of anyone doing that conversion, but presumably it'd be the same for any E-350 of the same era.

Re: A/C stopped

Yeah, I hope you weren't plugged in via a light extension cord. The voltage drop could kill the compressor. But I don't think that's what happened here - sounds to me like the motor's bearings failed, or the fan came off the motor, something like that. Have to get up to the roof, pull the cover off,...
