Re: Handgun Storage in B190

A secure-grip molded holster can be tie-wrapped by the belt clip under the front seats. These are weapon-specific of course, meant to retain the pistol during active movement; running, jumping etc. I keep a gun-box in a lower (B190) kitchen cabinet, with the keys in a drawer above. If feeling cautio...

Re: Light bulbs...

I like the 'yellower' look from automotive bulbs for the reading/couch lights. They can be found in a wide range of wattages - I'm using 7.5W reading light bulbs (#89) and 12W couch lighting (forget, oops). But you can range between 5W - dim but readable - and 25W, which is ridiculously bright. The ...

Re: Fridge removal woes

Since the old fridge - Dometic - doesn't work I'm removing it. The $100 dorm fridge I'm installing might not last long (thanks for the warning!), but I'm going to place it on a base of firm foam and see how it goes. Re: Van modifications

I like your solution to the Patio Problem. Mine is more primitive - I tie-wrap a tarp above the doors, hold the corners out with dowel poles & tent stakes, and have quick easy shade. It's stood up to decent winds & rain, but if it tears I'll have to buy another $5.99 tarp. :-( Also there's t...

Re: And what did you do or still doe for a living ?

In and around the Air Force (Active, Guard, Reserve) for 30 years. Former flight engineer. My current aerospace vehicle (Eloise) is only 10' high and 19' long, but I'm enjoying what we used to call "low and slow" (anything not a jet).

Re: Bringing Back the B190?

For that kind of (ridiculous) money, I could buy a Fort Transit and convert it with gold-plated fixtures and Persian rugs.

Re: What did you name your camper?

I like Vanessa, that's cute, and Air2B2 also.
Of course, they're all good.
My sister and I liked "Eloise" for some reason.
Eloise is elegant. She's comfortable. She knows how to make someone feel at home.
