Re: Propane tank removal

Hey Rugster, Who did you have do the work? I've got a similar problem with a leaking shut-off valve, and LP places say they won't work on the chassis-mounted tank, and RV places say they don't do LP, or it's too old (1996) for their shop. I'm now just thinking about doing the work myself--looks fai...

Re: Decorative cloth panels for fiberglass cap

No ideas here for replacing them, I'm afraid, as mine are in good shape. However, if the off-white material on your panels are fuzzy, it's called ozite. The panels on which it is mounted are luan, which I believe is 1/8" thickness.

Re: coaxial cable roof penetration: no cable entry plate beware leaks

I've heard from other B190 owners, that the brackets which hold the luggage rack to the roof, can be a troublesome point of water ingress too. I only mention this because I noticed that your brackets don't have any sealant on them. It's possible that the black plastic/rubber gasket underneath the br...

I haven't looked closely, but are you sure you need to remove the tank to do that?
I'm very late in replying to this thread, but I had the shutoff valve on the tank of my '93 replaced recently. It took them about an hour, and the tank was not removed. No need for that.

Re: Shower faucet replacement & upgrade

Thank you for this clear explanation. I just replaced my shower valve assembly, and your instructions made the whole process much easier. One slight complication for me, was that the right angle brass fitting that connects to the back of the faucet on the hot side had a damaged gasket, and could not...

Re: Camping...just beyond the campground, and how to navigate washboard roads comfortably in the B

The big problem I have with driving off-road in the B190 is the low clearance, due to the propane tank and bash guard hanging underneath the van. It can be done on dirt tracks that are not too rough, but you still have to drive carefully and creatively in order to avoid that familiar metallic scrapi...

Re: Microwave

I know this is an old thread, but I'll post my reply anyway. The microwave in my '93 doesn't appear to have a sliding arrangement like baggydew describes in the post directly preceding this one. I unscrewed the front strip of molding, and attempted to lift the back feet of the microwave over the str...

Re: Basic Solar Installation

I'm happy that the article is helpful BelaVanTe. I recently added a second panel in series with the first. It's good to have the extra current flowing into the charger, to recharge the battery faster.

Best of luck in tracing the issues with your installation!

Re: Before I add SOLAR...

Do you recall if they were 10 or 12 gauge wires? I'm planning to run three 100 watt panels in parallel on those wires... I'd really like them to be 10 gauge... This question was posted almost 2 years ago, so I imagine the poster has found out by now. However, for anyone else viewing this thread, th...

Basic Solar Installation

I recently installed a basic 100W solar system in my B190, which is easily upgradeable to 200W. I've noticed that while some folk are well versed in the ins and outs of solar, and how to put one in a B190, many are not. I thought I'd write about my installation in some detail, in the hope it can hel...

It's great that you're documenting this here. As you've mentioned, few others are likely to be doing this, but you never know. At some point, someone, somewhere, will be wanting to do the same thing, and will be happy to see your account, with pictures. I know that if I was doing it, I'd be heartene...

This is interesting txtom. I have not seen anyone else do this before. I have a 1993, with the longer cabover portion, but will be keen to see how this works out for you.

Re: 95 in Houston TX

I notice that the listing ended, and the seller relisted it for $500 less. Then that listing was ended by the seller, presumably because he accepted an offer from someone. It's in nice shape, but it does have almost 125K miles. That price does indeed seem a bit high. I'm curious as to what it actual...
