Re: Remodel of my 1996
Another weekend, another few pieces of the B van pulled out. 8O Pulled the tire carrier off the back of the van, which was a bit of a pita for one guy, but I eventually got it off. I need to repaint it as some of the powder coating had delaminated and it was starting to rust, but I was happy to see ...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
I'll run that dam around the entire floor in the back. It will be up against the walls on the drivers side, so it won't impact walking in the area. I'll have it off the wall on the passengers side, but I'll make a cover for that area so I can move things in and out without affecting the dam. When I ...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Yep, saw that. The heater is coming out, so it's really a non issue. I expect some damage to the flooring, but I'll be cutting the entire back area out of the van anyway and starting fresh. Any idea how difficult is is to pull the heater out? Everything else has been fairly easy, so I'm guessing tha...

Re: Ethanol in Gas and the Effect On Our Rigs
Thought I'd round out this thread. The EFI rigs don't have to worry about Ethanol in the gas (10%). Best to stay at that ratio. Earlier carbureted models need to be retrofit in order to run ethanol because of the differences in fuel lines and gaskets. As an aside, we're switching our membership from...

Re: Chemical recommendations?
Amsoil makes a propylene glycol based antifreeze. That would take forfreakingever to dry out in a p-trap.

Re: New member from middle TN
Hey there! Welcome. I'm going to give you my 2 cents worth of advice, and that may be overstating it's value by about 2 cents. The latter bathroom setup for the B190s certainly beats the heck out of the earlier designs, but not by a whole heck of a lot. I cannot for the life of me figure out why in ...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Gutted bathroom pics. Some rot in the floor on the drivers side, so I'll be cutting out the plywood and laying down new. Painted, like it should have been from the factory. The passenger's side has the closet with the HW heater and furnace in it, I'm keeping the furnace and removing the HW heater to...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Going to post new pics tomorrow, I think, I've worked my way around to the shower/toilet and pulled almost everything out of there. I plan on pulling the HW heater and using that space to install a recirculating shower which will sit in the middle of the bath area instead of up against the driver si...

Re: Replacing 1997+ toilet with compost toilet
Going to correct some misconceptions here. It is most certainly NOT illegal to dispose of 'poop' in the trash. Were that the case, disposable diapers would have been outlawed years ago. While expensive, composting or dry flush toilets are certainly as easy to use as a standard RV toilet. With the ad...

Re: Water Tank Fell Off
Going to reply to this thread, even though it's old. My 96 has the freshwater tank under the sink inside the van, is that not the normal location for the tank?

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Any thoughts on routing the wiring along the floor, instead of up the wall and through the top of the rig? It's pretty messy the way they installed it, I'd like to clean it up.

Re: Remodel of my 1996
So, another weekend, another tear out. :D I decided to pull out the old fridge. NJ Outdoor Adventures has a video of the entire process, so I won't go into the how to here, suffice to say it's pretty easy and the fridge isn't all that heavy or awkward getting out the rig. What I want to show is all ...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Like a lot of folks, the glue holding the headliner up in the van is failing. I've gone back and forth about replacements, wife likes the idea of laminate for the ceiling, I hate the idea of the weight it will add to the rig. So I came across this video which should solve the problem of what to put ...
