I installed the LT265/75R16 tires on the stock Ford E350 steel rims. My notes show those stock steel rims as 7" wide.
If you consider aftermarket rims, be sure to check their load rating. Many rims have surprisingly low ratings.

Re: Honda EU2000i
The stock (but optional) generator in an Airstream 190 is an Onan Microlite 2.8, rated for 2800 watts. This is capable of running everything in the motorhome at the same time EXCEPT the microwave and the air conditioner. (In other words, you could run the A/C and everything else, OR the microwave an...

Re: LT265/75R16 load range E
I'm afraid I don't recall how the handling differed between the stock tires and the wider ones (it's been more than a decade since I switched). I believe I'd recall if it had gotten worse, but I don't think it got noticeably better either. (I think you now have the new tires, so it might be moot, bu...

Re: LT265/75R16 load range E
Here's a photo of the trimming I did to the fiberglass fender extensions near the back of the front fenderwells (driver's side shown here). As I describe in an old post (above), I did this to fit LT265/75R16 tires (in place of the stock LT245/75R16 tires) on my 1993 Airstream 190 on a Ford E350 chas...

Re: Traveling across the entire USA.
A few comments: - I second other people's comments about propane. I've never had the slightest trouble finding gas stations that refill propane (do be aware that some just exchange tanks; you need one that refills) and have always been able to park in such a way that the hose could reach. If you do ...

Re: water heater switch fuse
You don't say what year Airstream 190 you have. This probably varies by year. In my 1993 Airstream 190, fuse #2 (counting from the left) is a 15-amp fuse supplying power to a blue wire. The circuit powers: - The fluorescent light over the sink - The stove hood light - The stove hood fan - The water ...

No, I was actually referring to Cliff's (lido14co's) post. I've edited my post to make that clear.jb1rd73 wrote:If you are referring to my pics, those were showing the loose wires. The "house" battery is non existent in my passenger side compartment where it should be.

Re: House Battery turffle shuffle
Cliff [edited to specify who's picture I was referring to], The picture you show is the battery on the driver's side of the engine compartment. In my 1993 Airstream 190 (and, I believe in 1992 through at least 1994, probably at least a few years later) that battery is the chassis battery (i.e., the ...

Re: 12V Fridge connection
In my 1993 Airstream 190, the stock 12v house-battery fuse panel had quite a few circuits, including a few that were unused. When I upgraded to a more modern converter/charger, it included a nicer drop-in replacement fuse panel that had even more circuits. I'll never need them all. If I recall corre...

Re: No flow through propane valve.
You need to go to a propane shop. NOT an RV shop; they typically know relatively little about propane equipment. NOT a business that simply sells propane (like a gas station); they know almost nothing about propane equipment. The three largest propane retailers in the U.S. are AmeriGas, Ferrellgas, ...

Re: Norcold N300.3 refrigerator
To replace my Dometic RM2310, I chose the Dometic RM2354 over the Norcold N300.3. Both looked like they'd fit okay (though see note below); both had top-mounted controls (which seemed an improvement over the RM2310). First, some model info (please verify, but this is my understanding): Norcold (now ...

Re: Adding fans to upper outside refrigerator side vent
I keep a variety of 12v DC fans on hand for things like this. Mostly these are computer fans; some from computer power supplies, some computer case fans, and some CPU fans (in all cases, though, make sure they're 12v DC). Many years ago, before replacing the original Dometic RM2310 refrigerator in m...

Re: Dump cap replacement?
My 1993 Airstream 190 has what's been described to me as a "basic Valterra" style drain fitting. I think the most common NON-compatible style is Thetford. Both Valterra and Thetford use a sort of 3" bayonet fitting. To the untrained eye (which includes me) they are not obviously diffe...

Re: Back up Camera in Upper Brake Light
I, too, have thought about putting a backup camera where the third brake light is located. I was reminded of that idea recently when I looked into the third brake light (details here: http://b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1475&p=5843#p5843). I'm currently imagining mounting a camera directly i...
