Re: Engine Fire with B-190

Sway bar sold. Still need to post up the Ryobi Generator.

So I just posted the curtains for sale, perfect shape and made of much better material than the original. See post here:

For Sale: Custom made curtains, mold and mildew resistant

These indigo curtains were custom made by our friend about 2 years ago, she took the old ones off and used them as templates. She also took off the old runner tabs and velcro and attached them to the new curtains. They cover all windows in our B190 and just need to be slipped onto the tracks or bars...

Re: Engine Fire with B-190

I wanted to make a comment about removing smoke damage. My husband & I are American Red Cross Disaster Services Volunteers, as well as 190b owners. Most of the assistance we provide is at house and apartment fire scenes. The Red Cross has a booklet we give out to the families, with detailed inf...

Re: A sad goodbye

Yikes! Glad you both are ok. I had scary sway issues with mine in the beginning until I put the Safe-T sway shock on the front and learned the tire pressure mantra. I actually bought the new Hellwig anti sway bar for the rear just before mine burnt up, so I never had a chance to install it. If anyon...

Re: Engine Fire with B-190

Hi Alaskan, I sent you the long version through an email. Short of it all, the damage was too extensive to fix Basher and we're still pretty torn up about it. We took the insurance payout for it and just recently found an amazing deal on a 2003 Peak Kodiak, a 24ft class B on a Ford E-450 chassis. Ba...

Re: Engine Fire with B-190

Hi lido14co, Believe me, we were certain that we were fixing it due to our passion for the B190. We talking to the experts, looked at prices and things that needed to be replaced without even talking to the mechanic. Then looked at how much time, energy, sweat, love and money we've already put into ...

Re: Engine Fire with B-190

Definitely wasn't the transmission, lots of oil trailing the vehicle and the oil dipstick was displaced, moved quite a bit. I'm thinking I blew the oil pan/gasket or something. Almost certain the engine seized in the end. Mechanic said it would be a massive undertaking to replace and fix it all with...

Re: Engine Fire with B-190

Thanks, it's a tough decision that we've been toiling over all weekend. Pretty much everyone thinks we're crazy for even thinking we can fix Basher. I guess humanizing our older camper van is not the best idea ;) Discussed it over with my gf and it's headed to IAA Salvage for evaluation by the insur...

Engine Fire with B-190

I've had the B-190 for almost 3 years and have had many adventures with it. Unfortunately, we had a pretty scary engine fire around WA Pass in Washington State. Some may know that this is a pretty good push up hill and can tax the engine pretty good. Well, the engine started racing, so I let off the...

Re: Flexsteel "Lifetime Warranty" Is A Joke

Thanks for the link, my mechanism lever recently cracked and I thought I was up the creek. Any idea which model number? I have a 1990 with original seats. Would love to order one and try to do this myself. Edit: I'm guessing they are all the same after looking at the site. I may try this one for the...

Re: House Battery turffle shuffle

Welcome! The forum already has most of your answers, just have to look around at the titles. This was the best resource for replacing the converter and what to buy: http://b190.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=839 From what I remember, a Vitamix is a pretty beefy mixer (>1500 watts)? That may be difficul...

Re: Dump cap replacement?

Woohoo! The white Thetford cap fit! Thanks EricZ for the explanation on the two types as I thought it was just one universal style.

Re: Dump cap replacement?

I bought the Valterra cap and the E-Z Coupler Valve Cap, both didn't fit, too small. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/e-z-coupler-valve-cap/5854 http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/termination-cap/6384 The current plug is white with a hose connector, making me think it's a Thetford. Re: Dump cap replacement?

it's a gasket inside the cap. I'll try to take a picture (after cleaning it a bit ;) )

Although we stick to a strict rule in the Basher van. No number two!
