Re: Air intake opening too far too fast

Finally took it in to a garage, as the problem was getting worse, more frequent, and it was losing power when it would make the insane hissing noise. Turns out the converter is plugged. Too much gas equals too much back pressure and the extra comes back through some egr something or other tubes. The...

Re: Replacing built-in cord with extension cord?

Just finished this mod on my '92. I'm full-timing it right now and its my daily driver, so pushing and pulling that cord through the hole every morning and night got old fast. I got lucky as the new housing easily covered the old hole without a new adapter plate needing to be fabricated. Found the k...

Re: Black water tank cleaning.

I've had odor issues from day one. Tank wand, ice, a few chemicals, repeated rinsing, nothing would prevent odor about 4-5 days into full time use. Yesterday I installed an inline vent fan called the 'lil stanker'. Put it in the rear cabinet up high right before the vent goes out the ceiling. Basica...

Air intake opening too far too fast

My lack of terminology is making it hard to search for the right info on this one. When you push the gas down far, you hear a hiss of much more air being brought into the motor. The sound of secondaries opening on a 4 barrel carb kind of thing. I know the motor is EFI, but the sound is much the same...

Re: Fridge on propane mode not working

Thanks all for the suggestions. I cleaned the slots on the round pipe where the flame is with a small wire brush and compressed air. The flame was noticeably larger and more solid blue afterwords and its cooling on propane mode once again.

Full-timing for about 5 weeks now and loving it.

Vehicle versus fridge leveling

Maybe a stupid question but I'd like to be sure. I'm about to pour a pair of concrete strips in my side yard to park this beast on. If the vehicle is level at the wheels, does that mean the fridge is supposed to be as well? Haven't verified it yet with a water level, but it looks like my front wheel...

Stain color for woodwork?

Has anyone ever matched the stain color for the oak? I'm getting ready to carve all new cabinet and drawer doors on a CNC machine and want a good match to the rest of the woodwork.

Re: The 94 460 Fuel Pump Problem

New fuel pump installed in my '92. We took the couch out and went through the floor rather than drop the tank. Was a piece of cake. Had to cut the wood panel that is the face below the couch in half, but a piece of scribe stolen from the under sink shelf went right over it for a perfect patch. Drove...

Re: The 94 460 Fuel Pump Problem

Man this fuel pump problem sure sounds like what is happening to me. On slow drives in town it'll start stuttering a bit then over a few minute period get worse and finally die. Let it cool off and its fine. On highway it won't do it ever. Changed ignition module distributor cap alternator (all test...

Re: 5 Ton Lawn Ornament? Transmission replacement suggestion

Bought my '92 last month had 80k miles. Ran extremely smooth. Driving down the freeway in 95 degree heat 3 days later and smoke went everywhere. No noise just cabin filled with sweet smelling smoke instantly. Pulled over and saw the exhaust was covered in tranny fluid. Was coming out of the plastic ...

Re: Srteaks on body side from roof runoff

I had the same problem. Some 409 a garden hose and a scrub brush did the trick. I don't think its the fiberglass, just a ton of old road grime. My streaks are gone since the cleaning. It was really nasty up there. I plan to paint the roof with commercial roof paint too. It drys to like a thick plast...

Re: Fridge on propane mode not working

Well I found that the water issue and the fridge issue are separate. I just gutted the plumbing under my sink, converted all to PVC, added a good filter, etc. Before I started, I emptied my holding tanks, used a tank wand, flushed a few times, then put a half gallon of bleach in each one and filled ...

Those (*$^(#$@ pex fittings

Working on the plumbing can be a nightmare - I've seen a few posts where people ask about replacing a section of something and asking how to fix or convert the grey pex pipe. One sweet solution is something called a "shark bite" fitting. Not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere on the boar...

Re: Fridge on propane mode not working

I've checked for level at the fridge, not just trusted the bubbles in the cabin. I'm within a degree or so both ways, checked with a 4' johnson level that's dead on. There's half a tank of propane, showing same at gauge and the monitor panel. Stove works great with perfect flames, so I'd guess it is...

Fridge on propane mode not working

When I got my 190 last month, the fridge worked wonderfully on either 110v shore power or propane. Either would freeze water overnight. One morning when it had been running on propane for a few days, I noticed the floor in front of the fridge was soaked. Inside the fridge was warm, and considerable ...
