Re: Needing a new sewer hose and clear elbow for a 1999

On my '99, a sewer hose storage tube at that location can't be more than 18" or so due to the fresh water tank hanging down behind the rear axle. I don't know if my fresh water tank is unusual or non-factory in its location. I am going to try angling a storage tube back from that location so it...

Re: Needing a new sewer hose and clear elbow for a 1999

My '99 doesn't have a storage tube. Can anyone confirm what size tube fits there and what size hose fits in it? Was it really a factory installation?

Re: Traveling across the entire USA.

Unless you are winter camping and using the furnace a lot, that propane will last quite a while. In descending order of consumption: furnace, water heater, stove, fridge. The owners manual for our 1999 model says the propane could last around a month. When we filled our tank this season after severa...

My '99 has only two belts behind the bench.

Re: Fridge 12v control wiring (1997+)

I'm hoping that a 1997+ owner will be able to look under their dash near the parking brake pedal and see if they have the same connector I do, and show me what it's connected to. I'm not sure if Airstream wired the refrigerator 12v relay the same in the pre-1997 RVs. In the meantime, next time I'm a...

Fridge 12v control wiring (1997+)

Hi, all. I have a 1999 B190. The fridge doesn't work on 12v, so I determined that there is no voltage on the yellow control wire at the fridge control relay behind the converter with the engine running. I traced the control wire from the relay back to a disconnected connector beneath the dash near t...

Re: removing my generator

Actually, if I didn't need the generator, I'd consider replacing the sofa with a dinette, rather than adding storage, but that's not everyone's cup of tea.

Can you tell us more about what "full solar" means? What are you planning to be able to run off the system?

Re: Spare Tire Jack

In our 1999 with the newer-style bathroom, the jack, jack handle and lug wrench are all with the spare tire accessible through the rear van doors (beneath the new-style bathroom vanity counter top).

Re: 1997 vs earlier models

Regarding the table/sofa set up, sometime during the last years (1998? 1999?), Airstream switched to a sofa with a one piece back that sort of flips/tumbles over the seat to fill the space between the seat and the cabinets. The table has two felt-lined slots mounted on the underside that rest on the...

Re: MPG

Our 1999 V10 B190 generally gets 12-13 mpg. Constant headwinds or lots of hill climbing can bring it down to 11 or so. Pleasant surprise.

Re: How does the refer work?

It looks like the Isotherm line of refrigerators are all compressor models, as one would expect for marine applications (hard to keep a refrigerator level on most boats). On our boat, the compressor noise was noticeable, but not annoying. The bigger drawback that I see for RV use is you could never ...

Re: How does the refer work?

Just for general interest, I found these specifications for the original Dometic RM2310 and the currently available drop-in replacement Dometic RM2354: Original RM2310: AC watts 160 (1.3A) DC watts 125 (10.4A) LPG BTU 750 (although the sticker on my refrigerator says 1000 BTU - either mine is a slig...

Re: Opening the rear windows

On my 1999, it seems Airstream took it further. Only the forward-most double side door window opens. All the other side and rear door windows are bolted to their frames, with no hinges or latches remaining. I'm pretty sure this was part of the original Airstream (Thor) conversion (for my unit, anywa...

Re: ABS Modular part # F4UZ2C219CG (where to find obsolete p

Another possibility (from googling) is a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) located in the rear axle (differential housing). Apparently this sensor, or sometimes the wiring to the sensor, can cause either cruise control outages or ABS warning lights or both. Could this be your problem? Also, if you can get ...

Re: Refrigerator 12v ignition sense wiring

Mike, I'm having the same problem (no 12-volt refrigerator operation with engine running). This seems like a nearly essential capability, otherwise I have to run the fridge on propane while driving. Did you ever track down the wiring paths for the refrigerator 12v circuit? Also, where is the ignitio...
