Heh. We started a thread on this but it quickly went off-topic (or at least kinda went away from the original intent). (Moved to Basic Questions.) I get about 12 mpg solo and 9.5-10 mpg while towing a car. Not great but not bad considering what it is. I have the 460 as well. I've heard the 350 doesn...

Fire extinguisher

Have you checked your fire extinguisher lately? I replaced mine today - Lowe's has an ABC for $13 or something like that, and it includes a new bracket. Good insurance to have for a mere $13. It's a bit larger than the original one but fits where the old one was mounted inside the door just fine. Th...

For the batteries, you'd connect the positive wire to either the positive lug on the panel or to the positive lug on the current battery. The negative wire can go to the frame or to the negative lug on the panel, or the negative lug on the current battery (usually the frame is the most simple).

Congratulations! :)

Each star represents 5 years of membership in WBCCI. The seal is probably just Wally, the logo of the WBCCI. The logo is visible in the center of their website.

Let us know how it goes! :) Sounds like you got a good one.

Electrical and Vacuum manual

I bought an electrical and vacuum Ford diagnostic manual for the 1991 Econoline off eBay and received it today. It covers the electrical and vacuum systems of the van itself (engine, transmission, gauge cluster, cruise control, headlights, etc. - i.e., everything the van had before Airstream started...

B190 Post card...

You may have noticed the eBay link to the B190 post card that was on the left side of the page for a couple days (it's gone now). Well, you are looking at the winner! :) For those who didn't see it, it's a postcard with a picture of a B190 on it. Apparently Airstream made them for dealers to mail to...

Excellent point - don't fill it unless you need it. And keep the waste tanks empty as much as possible.

BTW......Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) and wind resistance are major factors in fuel mileage. And....we can't change either one of them So.....what are the things we can do to making our over-the-road costs less painful at the pump... ?? Smooth starts and stops. :) Reduce as much weight as possible. I...

Alaskan wrote:And..... did they all have the same rear gear ratio....
Yeah. I'll look at my receipt for my transmission and see if it has a gear ratio listed. I do know that I asked the guy at the shop about it and he responded that the new transmission would have the same gearing as the old one.
