Re: Dinette Conversion

There are times when reading on the couch or having a nice relaxing conversation with a cup of coffee sitting in the mid platform cup support is nice. Of course, I do not have a tv yet hooked up but, this summer at night when on my planned Colorado trip it may be nice to watch a movie on the couch b...

Re: Replaced Bathroom Door Latch

After trying to shut the door to the bathroom complete with the existing working latch, I think this magnet setup would be more user-friendly. It is obvious that you have gone into the bathroom area when you are constantly trying to shut the door and latch it for privacy. This magnet would be a more...

Re: Dinette Conversion

I really enjoy seeing what the dinette configuration can do for folks. I would enjoy a better dining situation, laptop station with a resting spot if extended. However, it is hard to give up a sofa for me at this point. Will archive this conversion in my memory in case priorities change! Thanks for ...

Re: Water Heater Door Replacement

I have been noticing the worn look on the vents(water heater, generator etc) and then saw this really nice replacement which did not help because I notice the worn look even more now! Preparing the old surface and I a high heat paint may be the way I have to go. Having those improved would make the ...

Re: winterizing

So, after figuring out that the bypass to hot water heater had been placed incorrectly(and, it did get corrected?) thanks to Skater's thought process...I felt confident and secure the bypass was a great addition until I went camping and during the water-flush clearing, all the antifreeze out the lin...

Re: Leaks

Good advice about the coat hanger due to the stiff nature and ability to scrap too hard any coating. Something like the Weed Eater feed would be more forgiving yet do the job. Glad I saw this before the dreaded coat hanger method.

Re: Leaks

thank you for referencing this video about cleaning those window drains out. I am going to do that as soon as I can now because no doubt there is residue built up! I learn so much from you guys.

Re: New Owner New England

I love to hear how committed you are to restoring the camper. Makes me feel more normal now. Ha!

However, I am always thinking of this or that to do to bring the camper back to a wonderful camping status. Sweet dreams and grand imaginations now that you have come aboard.

Re: Whats it worth?

[quote="PatO"]My 1994 I just bought has 135,000 miles. I looked ALL OVER for another B van that sleeps 3-4 comfortably, and I could not find a decent layout anywhere. They almost all had a lounge or couch in back that folds down to 1 bed, but where is my (tall) 16 year old boy going to sle...

Re: Whats it worth?

I'm with Mountain!!! You can't put a price on the experience of owning one of these. Mine is a '90, but after the hours and effort (and, of course, the expense) of renovating this beast, I couldn't see selling for less than $15k - which is double what I paid for her. I expect someone with RV experi...

Re: Sewer Hose Door

I changed the electric door to an Aluminum plate and a chassis connector so the cord is separate. The old power cord was a mess and it gets tweaked stuffing it under the tub. It works well. I understand that the electric cord placement going in and out of the camper is "technique sensitive&quo...

Re: Starting my search!

Hi Lucy As others have said remember your buying a used vehicle/house that most likely has sat most of its life be prepared for something when you make your purchase. We've had ours two years last month. After six or seven months searching I find my 190 in Colorado springs im in California Everythi...

Re: Whats it worth?

Ramble alert!!....I know we MAY think it is completely unrealistic to think this type camper is worth anything beyond the base numbers but, if someone offered me a camper with a toilet, ability to take a reasonable shower to get clean, the chance to stretch the nozzle of shower out the back of the c...

Re: Whats it worth?

I may be counter to the reality of the worth of these vehicles or completely biased(probably) however, I do not see why a B-190 that is road worthy, reasonably restored and updated is not worth $18,000-20,000. Throw out the accepted values of vehicles that are out there and look at what this camper ...

Re: Starting my search!

At this point, what I love(that is a strong word I know) about the B-190 is it is the most compact full living type camper I have researched with the most flexibility and versatility. I am a get up and go when I feel like it type person and want to fit in small places both urban and natural settings...
