Re: New Member Jersey747 intro

Welcome to B190 life. Glad you found this site because the people that contribute here are beyond helpful by being downright friendly too! I had a problem with the hot water bypass that was put on my B190 and Skater looked at the pictures I posted recognizing there could be an installation problem. ...

Re: Rallies and Other Events?

I am going with a group from the Escapees club based out of Texas to the Albuquerque Balloon fiesta in October. We have been welcomed by a regional Airstream group and camped with them. It would be fun to have another B190 show up in October if anyone is a member. Probably, tagging along with a more...

Re: The vinyl question

The vinyl is the same stuff we have in the trailer. It separates from the backing. In the trailer, we’re just leaving it bare aluminum, but that’s not really an option here. The “rat fur” (I’ve always heard it called mouse fur) is a material called Ozite - or that might be the brand name. Our trail...

Re: Finally Got My Hands On One

Wise words Weland....this time is always different. The rationalizations are fun too validating why I had to do this now or that a certain way. Glad we are all restorations addicts.

Re: How many sets of seat belts under bench seating?

Probably for routine use the seatbelt a valuable and a minor accident situation. The rollover is a catastrophic moment probably years ago they did not even test to see if cabinets would fail or detach. I would still use them but, depends on the situation....in town twists and turns perhaps...high sp...

Re: Finally Got My Hands On One

Congrats !! As a new owner myself I can understand the excitement and things a person wants to do. have fun busting that budget ! I would be so upset with my budget busting on restoring my B190 except for the fact that I spend most my time thinking of trips I will take, routes to go and how to glam...

Re: Finally Got My Hands On One

Well, there is a bowling ball effect and real excitement of restoration that can easily blow a budget(speaking from experience). However, that being said...the camper van is ready to roll and if I do no more on it I will have a grand time the way it is right now. My only advice is take time to triag...

Re: How many sets of seat belts under bench seating?

That does sound like a catastrophic failure of the cabinet attachment with the potential of injury. I think sitting on the couch probably needs to be when the camper van is at rest and not traveling down the road. However, the front cab chairs feel a little wobbly to me and they have been checked an...

Re: B190 database

I am in Asheville,NC area. The gentleman was in New Jersey then moved down to mountains of NC where I saw it on Facebook for sale I think. I only had to drive 20 miles to see it which looking back the camper was in much worse shape than advertised(pictures and description) and needed a lot of work b...

Re: My Table Solution

I sent the pictures to the Gallery, Page 2, under Baggydew's camper The size is cut to 25 3/4" X 20 1/8" That table top could work! and, now that I put a backsplash on my sink area I think I am going to change it out after seeing your aluminum sheet on the back of sink area. That was the ...

Re: B190 database

Ok, Skater This is my info which you may have all this because the previous owner told me about this site when bought the van and has posted before. Just check to make sure not duplicate I suppose. Will have to get you the Airstream VIN when I get to the camper again. Unless, you already have it thr...

Re: How many sets of seat belts under bench seating?

I am pleased to say that I have two sets of seat belts which is a reassuring aspect to this 1992 camper van. Previously, I had owned a Pleasure-Way XL plus and there were no seat belts at all which concerned me when traveling with anyone sitting on the couch. While the Pleasure-Way was pure luxury I...

Re: My Table Solution

I cut a thin piece of indoor finish plywood to the dimensions of the stovetop for added counter space. Rounded the outside edge. Stained and finished it the color of the cabinets and coated it with several layers of polyurethane. When I cook I just lift it up against the back of the stove and use a...
