Re: Replacing Water Heater from 1989 Model

Any chance you can return the new water heater? Beyond the installation issues, it looks like your new heater operates with a pilot light, not electronic ignition. Given the already limited size of our propane tanks, I would think that a pilot light would not be ideal.

Re: Gasoline smell

mountaindent -- on my 93, the situation you describe happened to me as well. On the top of the tank there is a vent tube that had rotted out over the years. When I filled up the tank, the sloshing around from driving caused some spilling. As the tank went down, it would go away. Thankfully, my mecha...

Only one picture of the interior bunk? 26K miles, $5500, short on description -- way too much of a good thing, my scam sensors are going crazy. Not that I would not check it out if I were closer.

No race car's here, but still fun drivers -- 1990 Miata -- first year 50k miles and 2 1995 Ford Contour SE's(the 4 door version of Skater's Cougar, abit, a couple years earlier) both with about 120-125k miles. Drive all 3 in the nice weather months -- 06 Saab Sport Combi and 94 Ford Ranger for the w...

That is your fresh water fill port. Don't think the keys are all that special. I would expect a good locksmith probably has a generic key to fit it.

Re: Odd stalling sympton

Doesn't seem like a match, but recently had an issue with running rough, and stalling when hot. For me, it was the ignition module. Once cool, all was good. At temp, rough running and stalling.

Re: 1998 on eBay

I always get a bit conflicted with the later models. I have a 93 and there are bits of the later floor plan I like, some I don't. This is a very nice looking rig though Likes with the newer floor plan: Bath set up Flipped stove/oven and fridge Exterior storage compartment under the generator Heater ...

1950 miles, for the solar eclipse

Just completed a fantastic trip, 1950 round trip miles from MA to SC to catch the solar eclipse. Van was nearly perfect (ignition module acted up some, but never left us stranded for more than 10 minutes). The eclipse was breathtaking, and exceptional experience. Ran into another B owner in a campgr...

Not sure why you may not be seeing the same as me. When I go to the listing, there is a link just under the sellers ID on the right that says "Ask the seller a question". I can also click on the sellers ID and that gives me a pop up box with a "contact" link. In both cases, commu...

Re: Gasoline smell

The vent tub on mine was rubber. The gas smell for me was strongest when the tank was full, less so as the tank emptied. This did solve it though. If it happens to be the same, it was inexpensive especially because he was able to replace the tube without dropping the tank!

Re: Gasoline smell

I don't use my generator, but had a similar issue on my 93 a few years back. My mechanic told me it was a rotted vent tube on the top of the tank. He was able to replace it without dropping the tank using mirrors to see what he was doing.

Re: Adding an extra spare wheel

Roof was a thought for me too-- yes it is heavy, but it not like you will be taking it up and down a lot. I have a front mounted hitch on my van, usually use it for a storage box (sometimes bikes), so certainly an easy option too. U-Haul had an off the shelf kit for the Ford 350. Been a few years no...
