Re: Craigs List insanity

There simply aren't a lot of our vans out there for sale. Here is one on Ebay:

Yes -- take it back to the RV dealer and tell them to figure it out and fix it.

I think the class b noted is not an airstream, but a pleasureway

Nice van, but not one of ours

Re: Panicking about mold

Looks like quite a mess, and mold is not something to mess around with. I've removed the carpet from my rig easily, cutting at the cabinet base (put down adhesive tiles), but I suspect you will need to do a lot more. Under the carpet is simply plywood, which is likely also now full of mold. First st...

Re: Help with heat

Sounds like you have a problem with your heater. My 93 heater works pretty well-- will run a lot, as these vans don't have much insulation. Few things that help: An insulating blanket (sleeping bag works well) hung from the base of the upper bed to close off the front cab. Reflective foil insulation...

Re: Newbie in CA

Have a 93, the older style bathroom. Both have their advantages, as everything in life. The thing I also don't like about the newer style bath is the spare tire location-- always thought that it should not be to difficult to find a door mount for the tire, like the earlier versions, then customizing...

Re: New member from NJ

Congrats on the new purchase. Consider ripping out the carpet and putting down a laminate floor or linoleum-- you will find it much easier to keep clean-- area carpets over the hard surface floor are comfy and easy to shake out.

Re: Anybody cover their B190s for the winter?

I cover mine every year. Sure would love to have it in a garage, but..... I've not noticed scuffing or scratching. I've actually considered keeping the cover on in the summer as well-- so much dirt settles on the van between excursions.

Re: Satellite Dish

The propane tank on the B190 is fixed and cannot be removed. Some members have had success adding an "Extend a day kit" which allows you to connect to a common 20lb container. A suggestion for the hose and filling up the tank throughout the winter would be to get or make the shortest one p...

Re: Sprinter chassis experience out there?

Been keeping an eye out for Sprinter vans since I posted-- every one is riddled with rust! Worst I have seen in years on a production vehicle-- reminds me of 70's and 80's stuff from Japan

Re: Sprinter chassis experience out there?

Don't have any personal experience with these, but..... The vans I have seen, cargo, passenger or RV -- most seem to have a lot of rust!

Re: Traveling across the entire USA.

I've found it to be rare that a place selling propane can't service the tank, but also easy enough to find a RV dealer, or camping world within easy reach. A couple of things that have made it easier because of the location of our tanks: carry a soft carpet or mat to offer the person filling the tan...
