Re: Range hood vent
I dug around on a few gallery photos and decided that the range vent I have is the correct one. I just don't really like how it is not mounted on a flat surface. It goes up onto the trim piece that seals the joint of the top cap. I got a new one for like $12, but am going to probably wait to replace...

Range hood vent
Can a couple people please post photo's of their range hood vents on the outside left of the van? Mine is broken and needs to be replaced. Not sure if it is original or not.

Re: Voltage Issues and Weird Light Happenings
I would pop the battery out and get it load tested. I have a load tester here and am going to do that to mine this fall after we are done with the Bus for the fall. We are going to take it just regular camping a time or two now that festi season is done.

Re: Voltage Issues and Weird Light Happenings
Perhaps they are tied together? The PO of our Bus has a cable running between the batteries. I have not gone over it yet and disconnected as we just got the van this summer and I was busy using it. I imagine they did it to keep both charging off the alternator. Is your house battery in the engine co...

Re: Voltage Issues and Weird Light Happenings
Is this happening only when you are unplugged from shore power? Or either way? I think your sound system could be pounding the daylights out of your house battery. Your converter may not be able to keep up with it. You may simply need another battery, or a bigger one. A lot of 12v accessories these ...

Re: Newbies: Please read
Congrats and welcome!!
I am not sure the value of buying an owners manual. I have not thoroughly read mine, but it seems to be pretty vague at a glance. As far as the components, they all have separate manuals from the mfg anyway.

Re: leakin fresh water tank
That is what I have gathered from poking around the forum here. Can you tell at all where it is coming from? I would think there are many things you could seal it up with in lieu of removing it. Epoxy comes to mind, 3M 5200, also.

Re: Fridge on propane mode not working
Here is the compartment prior to cleaning
Here is the valve. The screw was turned about 75* clockwise and there is a metal tab behind it that was clearly visibile
Here is my flame now

Re: Fridge on propane mode not working
I am more than ecstatic to report that after messing around with the fridge last night and finding the shut off valve was a little more than half closed, that my fridge cooled to 29* from 65* overnight. I will post a couple pics later of the piece that was suspect. There was a good amount of rust an...

Re: Adding a generator
I am a huge fan of the Honda EU generators. I have an EU3000 at our off grid cabin in Idaho. Super quiet, super reliable.

My fridge is now working like crap on propane mode. I need to go through the cleaning steps. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend. Will report back.

Re: Adding a generator
Doug, There is one someone posted on here earlier this week. In Milwaukee,WI $4000 38000 miles. This photo shows the access panel for the genny. I don't see the control panel or the exhaust pipe for it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. Half the distance, and priced awesome. http://milwaukee.cra...

Re: Vehicle versus fridge leveling
Logically, I would say yes, that is level, but I have never checked my bubble level when parked in my shop. I did have my fridge running yesterday to get ready for a trip tonight and it ran fine and got down to 35* with just a couple ice packs in it. The Bus is now parked next to my driveway. The bu...

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?
I don't disagree at all. If it is just the plug, like mine originally was, swapping it is fairly easy. Just get the pigtail version with the same 30A RV head that you have so it will fit back in your existing housing. The one I got would not, which is part of what prompted me to replace everything. ...
