outside tire carrier
Hello everyone, am considering installing a Surco TF-100 driverside rear door tire carrier. It fits over the hinges and then attaches on the other side with 2 bolts. I am concerned about the weight and stress on the hinges. My tires are Michelin 245/75/16 w/ factory 16" steel wheels, haven't we...

Hey RobertL, we stayed 4 days at Madison and I would highly reccomend it. It's only 14 miles to West Yellowstone, MT., and the drive usually took us about 2 1/2 hours because it's so beautiful. A lot of the campsites are so level it just takes a little jockying and your'e good . Very wooded and scen...

Back from Yellowstone
Hello everyone, well we finally had to say goodby to beautiful Yellowstone National Park. Our trip lasted 34 days and we traveled 4,532 wonderful miles. Other than having to replace the blower motor on the furnace in Rock Springs, CO, the B190 performed perfectly. Long steep (7 and sometimes 10 degr...

Planck, normally on 120v it takes about 8-10 hours b4 a trip to get our fridge really cold. If it's in the winter it only takes about 2hrs. I load it up and just b4 we leave I switch it over to 12v, that way when I'm pulling into a gas station I don't have to mess with turning the propane off. I fin...

not really sure skater, mine was a 95 and it instantly started getting super cold as soon as I turned it on. We could put ice cream in this thing within 20 min. and never worry about thawing. It was a great fridge, but I always wished I would have had the gas option especially after dry camping for ...

Thanks everyone for the great info. You all made it easier to understand, I just wish that the 12v element drew less amps. I used to own a Sportsmobile with a Norcold 12v/110v only, no gas. The 12v worked equally as well as the 120v and drew less than 5amps. Go figure! In the future I will get her c...

Hey there skater and planck, have been reading your comments about the fridge and am just wondering. When the fridge is in 12v mode, just exactly what is going on. What is actually happening in the 'maintenence mode'? Is there some kind of a sepeate refrigeration unit built in the fridge? I'm not fu...

Thanks Alaska, can always count on you and skater for great info. Would really like to add a second battery just like your article, if I can talk my wife out of the space, lol. Is your battery an AGM or a reg deep cycle, and is it vented? Present battery is Walmart group 27 deep cycle put in Sept. 2...

Thanks for the quick response skater, in my search for solar panels most 80W and up come with a controller, which I agree is good insurance against overcharging. Since I have 4 extra terminals on my converter I guess I could hook my red wire to one of those and fuse it. Not sure yet as to what amp f...
