Thanks alot skater, guess I'll just run it on propane when not hooked up to 120. When traveling it should be OK to run it on 12V since it will be charging from the alternator. Am also considering installing an 80 or 100 watt solar panel to help when dry camping. Do you think my present Magnetek conv...

Fridge on Power Inverter?

In reading a question from 'chasing rain' dated April 24, 2009, it brought up the dilemma I'm having right now. When I'm traveling I usually run the fridge on 12v, which is not too bad if the weather is not too hot and it's not open and closed too much. In 12v it is pulling around 10 amps per hour w...

Hey Lifestreamer I'm kind of a newbie myself having owned my 99 Airstream for less than a year (June 2010). I will begin by saying that I think when it comes right down to it, it's just a matter of what suits you, how your'e going to use it, and what's available. I think I can safely say that all B1...

Thanks alot seawolf, appreciate the info - it's really helpful. I'm checking on exactly where to install so that my crank winds up in a suitable location and still leaves room for hoped-for solar panels some day. By the way, how did you get in touch with Airstream. My wife emailed them a question ab...

Greetings from a new B190 owner

As a proud new owner of a 1999 Airstream 190, I have already asked a couple of questions (and gotten quick responses - thanks!) on this forum as well as posted a photo of our "new" as-yet-unamed B190. We are in the process of tweaking... new Michelin LTX-MX tires, wax job, reflectix window...

Winegard crank up antenna

I am thinking about installing a crank up Winegard antenna on the right rear corner of the roof beside the air conditioner. Can anyone foresee any issues with this installation or has anyone been successful with adding one to their (1999) B190? I am planning to mount the tv above the stove. I do hop...

Thanks for the great info Alaskan and also to Skater for the email. Looks like it could get a little pricey. I guess I'll have to think on it and see if it would be cost effective over the long haul. Our present Sportsmobile (95 E250 2wd) came with a 3.73 posi. and it has gotten us out of trouble mo...

limited slip diff.

Hello, my wife and I are hoping to buy our first B190 very soon now, and needless to say I have a few hundred questions. One in particular is whether or not the 3.55 rear end is a limited slip diffefential. If it isn't, how hard would it be to change it out for one? Assuming you can even get a 3.55 ...
