Battery charging

Okay, only one battery down and I'm already tired of the inverter overcharging the deep-cycle battery. It looks like the problem can be fixed with a real controller, and the price of it would offset the price of new batteries pretty quickly, I think. I'm thinking the Xantrex Statpower 10TB would do ...

I was up on the roof to do some emergency caulking - which didn't work, I'm going to have to peel the old stuff off and start over whe...

Having rear tires that don't match is a bad deal... most likely if you had them off and measured the circumference it would be different...thats hard on the rear end gear... Have them all removed and checked for balance and round and put two that match the closest on the rear.... Yeah, there are th...

Vibration in the rear end...

I've got a vibration in the rear end from about 50mph up. :| It could be something as simple as unbalanced tires; I may have lost a wheel weight. But I'm afraid it's something bigger, like a rear wheel bearing or even something in the rear end... The driveshaft universal joints are new; they were re...

Updated some graphics...

I updated the graphics for the buttons along the top of the page over the weekend. If several of them look odd to you, hit your reload button - they should look like the two search buttons.

you're using the electric brake controller that came standard with the Airstream ? What problems did you have with the brakes on the dolly..? What caused your brakes to fail on the van...? No, I ditched that and moved to a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller. It's a highly recommended model. If nothi...

I was pretty close to max with the Jeep if ya crunch the numbers from the E350 Owners Manual... With the Element (lotta aluminum & plastic) I'll be well within the numbers. State regs also vary and I was within those regs for Wa & Alaska. So far the brakes on my dolly have been almost nothi...

For mine, at 112,000 miles: New transmission, $3400 New generator, $2200 New engine water pump, $600 (this one bugs me, I could've done it myself had I caught the problem) New fog lights, $20 I've done various other minor things but nothing that's more than a few bucks. Still to do: Find seat covers...

Do you worry about braking on the toad vehicle?
