Re: 1997 ujoint conversion in Riverside CA

I think it's in Austin, TX, not Riverside. Previous thread on it here.

Re: Towing a vehicle...

My silver car trailer and race car work pretty well. I'm restoring a little car to pull as well. See that's a good looking rig. I took the Cougar the weekend above where I was wondering which one I'd take. ;) For reference, the tow dolly I had was totaled in the crash in 2010. The tray had been ben...

Re: Battery/power issue

Im positive the batteries are on the correct side. I just disconnected the engine battery and confirmed nothing inside the rv will work. So the engine battery is the only source of power. So now that my question is could I have a bad battery isolator switch? I don’t know much about how they work bu...

Re: Battery/power issue

I have a 91 b190 and on our last trip I noticed the engine battery is going dead while the house battery seems to stay charged. From what I can tell it seems everything that is supposed to run off of the house is actually running off of the engine battery. We ran the heat on and off throughout the ...

Re: Refurbishing the Hehr windows

Some notes on this, as I just ordered today: 009-984S Vent Track with slots (for bottom of sliding window) 009-421 Sweep seal (for the upright frame in the middle of the window touching the sliding window) H-H Wedge seal (for the upright frame in the middle of the window touching the fixed window) T...

Re: Newbies: Please read

Hi from Kansas! My husband and I inherited our 1991 B190 from his grandparents (went to his uncle first, then to us) last fall. He's recounted countless stories from their their annual trip to Minnesota as a child. For us the sentimental value far outweighs any monetary value. We're are looking for...

The 1996 model year is listed with a GVWR of 9400 and a GCWR of 11500. With the upgraded engine, the GCWR goes to 15000. Did the upgrade affect the GVWR?
The actual values for a given vehicle should be on the sticker in the driver's door frame, hopefully yours is still present.

Re: Foam Cabinets

I had to skim through the video, but I did see they were putting what appeared to be fiberglass window screen on it. Maybe it was something stronger than that. Is the goal to make the cabinets lighter? These should be lighter than the original cabinets. I know I can lift each set without too much tr...

Re: Foam Cabinets

That stuff is really soft, I have a bunch for a model railroad layout, and it's really easy to dent it, scratch it, etc. My cats love to claw it. A can sliding across inside would dent it. And either the cabinets have to be small or you won't be able to put much weight in it; it'll flex and snap. Th...

Re: 1991 diesel in California

Actually went and looked at it today. The YouTube video makes it look better than it actually is. All the decals are cracked and peeling, the body is straight and the interior is in good shape. According to the work order, its been sitting for 5yrs. and it shows, exterior rubber seal are cracked an...

1993 (I think) in Longview, WA - $14,500

Ad title says 1990, text says 1993, body style is definitely post 1991.

There's one other inconsistency I spotted - it mentions installing a DRW (dual rear wheel) rear axle, but the pictures clearly have a single rear wheel. It might just be a typo though.

Re: 1991 diesel in California

I've had my eye on that 1991 B190. I called the mechanic today. It's not a pretty picture. Previous owner ran biodiesel in one of the tanks and it had been sitting for years. The biodiesel was like a thick gel and it was in the fuel lines, injectors, pump etc. The tank was cleaned and coated on the...

Re: Adding solar AND inverter while keeping your generator

Yeah, there's no "3 way" transfer switch that I've ever heard of, so I don't know how else you'd do what you're trying to do. The only other options might be to wire up special outlets for the inverter, but that has its own problems. Some inverters have a transfer switch installed (such as...

Doh, skater, can you move my posts about my build over to my thread?

Thanks in advance.
Done. I moved one post that wasn't technically about your build, but you mentioned what wood you used in it, so it seemed more relevant to your thread than mine.

BTW, if I were you, I would slather all that wood with poly.
I did that for the supports around the ceiling fan, and they didn't adhere to each other very well (using Liquid Nails). I was hesitating about doing it with the rest of it for that reason.
