Re: Air Conditioner Capacitor

Oooo! Cool project. Interested in what you find - have been wondering about my ac as well. Take some pics, please! OK, so I switched out the SPP6 with a SPP7E and it fixed the problem. You can hear the generator bog down but it won't shut it off anymore. The main difference between the 2 is that th...

Re: Anyone converted the stock AirCon to a thermostat control?

I have the "cool/warm" knob... but I'm looking at more of an easy to set temperature control... even the old dial thermometers in a house (or tied to the heater in the B190) have a temperature range. I'd like to be able to set something more precise, like 72°F. Possibly even something that...

Anyone converted the stock AirCon to a thermostat control?

Has anyone converted the stock AC unit to a thermostat control? Is there a Dometic faceplate that will plug-in and bolt up there to the ceiling mount that anyone has found? Control of the unit on the wall-mounted thermostat would be nice, but even if I could set temperature on the ceiling faceplate ...

Re: Abs light

I know that this is a old post but I know the 94 units and maybe +- a year or so had a main relay problem. Unfortunately the relay was part of the ABS module so the repair usually required a complete pump assembly. Some years the electrics were available separately from the pump but I don't remembe...

Re: Diesel Heater???

I'm going to be full timing off grid in Canada. On the west coast it can be say 25 degrees for 3 or 4 months. The heater uses a lot of propane and the fan eats power. That combined with the limited propane fill stations, it would be easier to use diesel. Yes, it would be a 3rd fuel source. There ar...

Re: Diesel Heater???

Can I ask why you'd want to? Is your engine diesel? Exactly. I like the idea of those Webasto Diesel heaters... and I've thought about this actually. What made me decide it was kind of silly was, the B190 already has a furnace that requires carrying a second type of fuel for. Why go through the has...

Re: San Diego Family in search of their first B190!

Welcome!!! The most important and money saving info I can give you is.... Be ready to travel to purchase. If you find one nearby, go look at it so you have seen one in person if you've never really been inside of a B190... However, when I bought mine last year... there was a HEAVY "West Coast T...

Re: Loft sleeping for two adults

I sleep two adults in my 1994 loft all the time. We don't even "slide it out" or add the extra cushion to fully expand the bed. We sleep with pillows on the driver's side, and feet on the passenger side. Him: 5' 10" and 190 pounds Her: 5' 4" and 120 pounds * note: happy-fun-times...

Power Steering Cooler - Anyone know the part number?

Well, my power steering cooler has started leaking, and as I look... it appears to be bolted to the bottom of the engine-frame support under the front of the van. It's pretty rotted, and needs to be replaced. Here's a photo of it, taken from under the rear bumper, looking aft: b190 1.jpg The ford de...

Re: Captain's Chair Armrest Repair

Nice fix. Funny you posted this now--I just repaired our armrests a couple of days ago and they were broken in the same way as yours. I took a different angle and got longer screws that i put through wide washers. Then screwed down through each hole and let the washer press the the black plastic pi...

Re: Captain's Chair Armrest Repair??

Well, nobody replied... so here's what I did! Total cost to repair was under $8 at Home Depot: [/b] I decided since the bottom was blown out of all four screw-holes on the plastic piece, the easiest thing to do would be to figure out how to put four "posts" into those holes and just glue ...

I found Nate Yarbrough's detailed instructions on his Explorist.Life site to be explanatory on a STUPID EASY LEVEL that even I could understand. Even if you want to use cheaper parts than he uses in his builds... Check out: https://www.explorist.life/diy-campervan-solar/#truck-camper-solar-project H...

Captain's Chair Armrest Repair

So, the four screws that hold the passenger armrest together have all "pulled through" and broken the plastic middle piece of my passenger seat. The FlexSteal cable still works and is fine. Please see the attached images if my explanation didn't make it clear enough. Any ideas on the best ...

Howdy. Check the forum, maybe search dog house. I posted a detailed solution on this with pictures. Any easy fix :) Can you link to it? Cause... searching for " Dog House " or even " Doghouse " point to no threads except for this thread here... and I just looked through your 85-...
