Re: Refer. Replace or Fix?

I’ve seen the cooling systems for $300 after returning the core but at that point I would still have 20 year old insulation and controls. I tried it on 12v a while ago, it wasn’t a real thorough test, I didn’t leave it there for days, but for the day I did try it, it didn’t keep the fridge cold at a...

I level my rig whenever I stop for the night. The rig might sit unlevel for the day while I’m out.

I use it exclusively on propane.

Refer. Replace or Fix?

The reefer in my 1990 7B 190 seems like it’s cooling less and less. Should I play around with it, replace this and that, clean things, or should I just cut to the chase buy a new one? I see them for $600 and I can have it shipped to a commercial address. Is it an easy fix? Slide one out and slide th...

Re: Getting rid of my generator....

Just now I junked my AC.
I'm going to wait till I start my summer job in Tahoe before I take out the generator and I'll try to sell it.

Getting rid of my generator....

And microvave.

The only reason I have the generator is to power the microwave, which I rarely use. I've already gotten rid of my AC unit.

Good idea?

Re: Toilet oder when driving

BTW, I have solved my odor problem. I'm sure it was a combination of the hole I drilled in the vent pipe and the toilet valve not sealing. I fixed those two issues and had also installed one of the 360 (https://360productsnorthamerica.com/site/a) vent caps, the ones designed suck air from the vent s...

Re: Toilet oder when driving

Here's an idea to find where an odor leak may be coming from. Fill your toilet with a bit of water to get a nice seal there. Close up your rig real tight, close all the windows and kitchen vent. Turn your fan on and if it has a high setting, turn it up to that. So, now you have air being sucked out ...

Re: Toilet oder when driving

After reading this post I went out and did the water test. Yes, water was draining back into the toilet. The test proves that the pipes are connected, at least not cracked on the bottom and not 100% blocked. What I did notice was a giant leak where I had drilled a hole through the pipe to get the wi...

Re: Toilet oder when driving

Hotone41, My system is driving me nuts as well. I relapaced the gaskets and added one of those vent covers that is supposed to add to the suction. Still, if I drive with the windows open, I get sewer smell in my rig. I was also thinking that it wasn't venting properly. In my rig, a 97, the vent for ...

The gray running boards

I've always wanted the gray, fiberglass running boards on my rig to look nice. I've washed them, I've use some fiberglass restorer, Fiberglass "armor all" on them but they always looked mottled and faded. I'm just back from 2.5 months in Baja and was doing an extensive cleaning on my rig w...

Re: Window glazing gasket

There are in fact two different sizes for one window group. The fixed windows in the group use a smaller size than the operable window. As a result, I now have a whole bunch of the smaller window glazing I don't need. If anyone wants it, I'll sell it for a deal price! I have about 10 feet of the lar...

Re: Toilet oder when driving

I replaced the gaskets and yes, not super hard but not easy-peasy either. My toilet holds water now so hopefully my oder problem is gone.

Re: Hot water, Cold water

I'm not on city water but I noticed that when I have my pump on, the faucet works as usual and I get cold water from the cold side. I think you are correct that the pressure in the hot water tank is overpowering the lack of pressure on the cold water side.
