Re: Before I add SOLAR...

I have a working generator on my very stock & original 1995 B190, but I'm also going to add solar... I would be interested is seeing a photo of where the solar pre-wired connections are on the roof. I found a small gray box on the roof just in front of the AC. Is that the solar connection point...

Re: Before I add SOLAR...

When it comes to solar I started off on the cheap. Just so I could play around with it to gain some experience. Set up a “solar generator” ALLPOWERS 80W Foldable Solar Panel $174 https://www.amazon.com/ALLPOWERS-Foldable-SunPower-Technology-Smartphone/dp/B01M5DCPKD/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UT...

Re: Before I add SOLAR...

I have a working generator on my very stock & original 1995 B190, but I'm also going to add solar. Before I do, I'm trying to read as much as possible. I've read some great ideas and advice in this forum. Some of the posts regarding solar & batteries are fairly old, so since technology is c...

Re: Before I add SOLAR...

Congrats on going solar. I have just recently installed a solar panel and charge controller and have been researching solar for awhile now. Here is a basic list of what you will need. 1) obviously solar panels 2) MC4 connectors and crimp tool for connecting the solar panels to your new wiring. 3) so...

Re: Re-upholstery the sofa

This is a detailed image of the bolts that hold the couch in the van, there are 4 bolts in total, 2 on either side, you can see how simple it is to remove the sofa. wilbur 05.jpg Nothing but hog rings securing the fabric to the metal frame. They held for 25 years, so they mostly likely will hold wor...

Re: Re-upholstery the sofa

Even after diligent measuring and precise drawings (on the back of the Wendy's bag) we still managed to come up short on the amount of fabric necessary. wilbur 02.jpg Our saving grace was that the zipper casing side was washed and reused; we just put it through a gentle machine cycle with bleach and...

Re: Re-upholstery the sofa

Super Job, did you do front seats as well ???im about to pull mine out and give it the old college try !!! If I screw up too badly then I’ll pay the $500a seat which seems to be a number that gets thrown at you immediately upon asking about a van seat ! wilbur 04 seats.jpg A local firm made our sea...

Re-upholstery the sofa

Surprisingly only two bolts on each side in the back holds the sofa in place. They were easily removed with the socket wrench allowing removal of the couch from the van. From the comfort of the dining table we reupholstered the couch. wilbur 01.jpg We replaced upholstery fabric from our sister's 190...

http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Sea ... h=t-slides for the curtain tabs.
My curtains were made 2 inches looser which allowed me to do away with the elastic and sew the t-slide directly to the curtain.

Sewing the tabs directly on the curtain makes for a better look; it is a bit of hand sewing. Used a uv resistant upholstery thread should you do this.

Re: The vinyl question answer

Finish with the vinyl replacement. It was a bit of work, more than I'd care to do again. Just a lot of dry fitting. It looks more like a boat cabin. We left the bathroom vinyl for now. replaced vinyl front.jpg All the shrouds, light, ac, vent, were given a coat of white paint. This makes for a much ...

converting fluorescent lights LEDs

Well I am at it once more. This time in the b190. Clearing out all the components of the fluorescent fixtures and gluing down the LED strips. I've been soldering leads together, apparently there clip-on connectors that make this job much easier; they're not near as time-consuming as soldering is. Ho...

Re: faux finish replaces deteriorated wallpaper of bathroom

Being the reddish tint would not leave without major chemical intervention I opted for a faux paint finish, marble. Something I saw in a book and always wanted to try. The hubby was weary of the idea but I reasoned it could always be painted over if it were too much chaos. This project may have conv...
