Re: Christmas

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, and I wish all a good New Year. New Years Eve is our Wedding Anniversary and we might take the van camping but I won't be worried about the cold as our heater works just great and a couple of blankets for the weight is all we use. I do cover the windows with a bub...

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?

Just a short note. The plug you show is good and if there is a Harbor Freight near you, they have a small kit with heat shrink tube that you could slide on the cable before splicing your cable and the plug together then slide the shrink tube over the splices and hit it with a heat gun or hair drier ...

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?

If it 's just a plug end that's bad, why not just buy a replacement and wire it in. simple to do, just cut the bad plug off and go to an electrical outlet or home depot or similar and ask them for help if you need to. the wiring is simple enough, green-ground, white-neutral, black, red, blue and some...

Re: The 94 460 Fuel Pump Problem

I haven't really had my van out on the road for a while since my last trip to yellowstone, because of some family matters to be taken care of but we did inherit a class A from my wife's parents and so we took it to No. Carolina for a training that my wife had to attend for her work (therapist, owns ...

Re: Good Cheap Food ideas for road trip

It' s hard to know what to suggest because what do you like, we don't know. As for me and my wife, we try to plan out what we might want and then prepare some things like cooked ground meat for different pastas or maybe something like sloppy joes, etc. after dividing the mixture into several bags (I...

I thought I was the only one that had that problem. I think the gutter material that Alaskan has posted is the answer to the problem.

Re: air conditioner from batteries possible?

I'm not to much of a guy with all the electrical formulas flying around but can say the following. I used to work in a shop that made undercover vehicles for various law enforcement in Utah. We made simple air conditioners that ran all day and night for those vans etc by using a couple of muffin fan...

Re: exterior window cover

check out your local R.V. dealers or supply houses. I think mine cost around $50 or so and has a pocket on the top that fits around the top of the doors so that when you close the doors it stays in place, also has magnets on the bottom to keep it in place as well with no snaps etc so its very easy t...

Re: Rear Lockers...

I live in Utah and have had the van in snow and some pretty muddy areas and haven't had a problem but never gave a thought about using lockers, it might be interesting to hear how they work vs converting to a 4x4 because I'm sure the conversion would be a lot cheaper than trying to convert to a 4x4....

Re: Coach Battery Drained from Heater?

Hi Eamonn, my wife and I had a few problems as well when we first started vanning and the heater was one. I too, drained the battery but we were hooked up to power from a campground and I found out later that the fan on the heater works off the 12 volt system even though you are hooked up to outside...

Salmon(Alaskan for you), Cod and Crab

Thought I would pass on some recipes that I've tried and also one (cod) that the grand kids will even eat. Salmon with a Watercress Cream sour cream about 1 1/4 cup a couple of tablespoons of butter tablespoon of cooking oil (I use corn oil) one garlic clove finely chopped white wine about a generou...

A couple of good things to eat

The holidays are past and I hope they were good for all and that the new year will treat us all kindly. I saw a commercial the other day and a little pig was asked what his new years resolution was, he answered, to eat more because it's a resolution I can keep. I guess maybe I feel the same way so h...

Posting Photos

Just a question. When I tried to open the gallery it came up with a statement of (sorry, this module isn't active), is it a closed deal and are we to use the site photobucket for now on, or is it just a temporary thing. I haven't seen anything as far as an update etc.
Thanks, Craig

HD Antenna

Because one of the local stores was having a sale on their Televisions, my wife and I bought a large flat screen for an upstairs apt over our garage and also a smaller one for the van to replace the older one currently in use. The question of an antenna came up because the sat setup that I currently...
