Thanks, guys. Great suggestions. I will see about weighing it and send off a couple of queries to UJoint and Boulder Off-Road seeking advice. If there are more ideas, keep 'em coming. I'll be sure to post a pic when I get this sorted out.

Re: New Wheels and Tires--a shopping opportunity
Just back from a research trip to the tire place. Thanks again for your information--helps me to know what to ask. On tires, after reading the reviews and with your advice, (and the fact that we have the KOs on an old Tacoma and drive happily in snow, mud and off-road on them ) I'm thinking bfg KO2'...

Re: New Wheels and Tires--a shopping opportunity
Wow, thanks VT! Super helpful! And I like the look of the wheels they used on the Rubicon in the review. Wonder what they are? I guess 17's are the way to go--they look really good on your van. So, maybe the BFG's again, or maybe the Cooper Discoverys. Still contemplating the options.

New Wheels and Tires--a shopping opportunity
My van is near to the point of needing new tires. While shopping for 33x12.50 tires for my aftermarket 16.5" wheels, I discovered that tires are no longer made for this size wheel. I've called four shops and combed the internet, and those tires are not.available.anywhere. So, now I have some de...

Re: Vail, Las Vegas, Sedona,Grand Canyon, Moab
Yay! :) It really was, a bit more time would have been awesome. I convinced the wife after having her drive a small stint that the 4wd conversion is a worthy endeavor and that keeping the beast is now a priority and finding storage and cushion for my new business will have to come from somewhere els...

Re: Traveling with a cat.
Hi Lou, I want to second Skater's comment that free-range kitty travel is probably risky, even with two humans in the van, but it's what we have done to this point. I have even taken one cat camping on a short solo trip and he behaved and stayed in his favorite travel spot while I drove, but I would...

Re: DISC BRAKES!?!
URStruly and Kentuckian have given great brake advice. The only thing I can add, and it's what I do in the mountain terrain here, is down shift and let the transmission do more of the work. Good luck. Smoking, spongy brakes are not fun.

Re: House Battery turffle shuffle
My 94 has group 34/78 batteries in both positions under the hood. It's a tight squeeze in the coach spot. I'll be interested to know if that's what other 94s are using.

Thanks for posting these photos.
I think it came out well, though I suspect the prep and painting was a lot of work for you.
What sort of cleaning and sanding did you do?

Re: Anyone changed their o2 sensor? '91 airstream B
Not really your situation, but years ago I had an '88 F150 (fuel injected) that ran as you describe your ran runs. Belching smoke, stalling...horrible. I remember how vexing that problem was. Lost a lot of sleep and money over it. After spending a fortune on things that did not work, mechanic replac...

Re: Engine sputters under load and more- Victim of the ECM?
Thanks, Denco, for the links and the information. Hate to keep hijacking your thread, so I may start an EGR thread if I make any progress. But for now I'll cheer you on from the sidelines and hope that the ECM guru can fix your problem. http://easyautodiagnostics.com/ford_egr_test/ford_egr_valve_1.p...
