Re: Miles left until total failure of 4E0D?

Postscript #2

I had both universal joints replaced, which were toast. The mechanic says the trans is okay, but I will drive it a while to test that theory.

High mileage B-190s out there?

Hello All,

Just curious how far some of you have pushed your B-190. Another one with over 150,000 miles? 200,000?
We are at 117,000 after the last trip - 40,000 in 3 1/2 years. Speak up and be recognized.
Thanks.

Re: Miles left until total failure of 4E0D?

Postscript #1:

Made it back to Santa Fe. Added one more tube of Dr. Tranny and took it easy.
More notes after a rebuild. Thanks again.

Miles left until total failure of 4E0D?

Hello all, We are on the road for an east coast run. Arrive in NC today. I have been experiencing transmission shudder for the last 1000 miles - mostly at low speed with little load on the transmission. It occurs most often around the 1st to 2nd gear shift. When I back off, and hit it harder, the co...

Re: New from the East Coast

Go for the front and rear Hellwig sway bars. It makes the beast easier to handle. See the sway bar posts. Also oversize tires and heavy duty Bilstein shocks.

Re: Power Enough

I use third gear a lot on hills with my 93 (Overdrive Off). Using more rpms on the hills takes a bit of the load off the transmission. Remember this is an 8000 beast. It's still one of the faster "houses" on the road. I average 10mpg unless I slow to 65mph.

Enjoy the scenery. Just watch those day time temps.

The B-190 is the bomb. Great choice.

On the decals: I recently called Airstream on one of the details (front window). I was told it was no longer in stock. Others may have other options. Enjoy the b-190.

Do prices keep rising year to year, or is it my imagination?

Welcome to the tribe!

Consider checking your tires for tread and age first.

Enjoy.
