I had the same problem with mine. After new plugs, wire, coils, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, and fuel system cleaner, it was still there. Round too cost a lot to diagnose (and repair), new Oxygen sensor, MAP sensor, Distributor Stator, ignition module, and rewiring some of the grounds to the...

GPS

Anyone using a GPS navigation system? I'm thinking of getting one, but I'm wondering if the overhanging roof above the windshield would cause problems with satellite reception.

I'd say go for a hitch mount rack with a hitch extender like this:

Obviously, you'll have to check for clearance, but it seems like it would work.

Mine is significantly narrower- 5.5 inches. I think it's supposed to be a group 50 battery. I just replaced mine with a group 22NF AGM battery- which is a good bit shorter as well- 9 just under inches. I think with some minor modifications, I can get two of these batteries in the space of the origin...

Re: Still New...Still have question? :-)

I can answer a few... How do I remove the sliders from the track the curtains hang? most of them have a screw at the end of the track- take it out and slide the sliders out. I still haven't figured out how to get the front on in upper bunk out (not that I've really tried I don't have propane yet, bu...

I had pretty good luck with getting the old carpet out with a utility knife (actually, I think I got a carpet knife for it, but same sort of deal). Keep in mind that the carpet runs well under the cabinets. Then again, my carpet seemed to be half-rotten anyway. I thought about tile, but wasn't sure ...

I replaced mine with engineered hardwood flooring- it's tongue and groove flooing that you glue down. I think the cost for all the materials was a little under $200 from Lowes (something like this: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=21228-972-ABC3200&lpage=none ). ...

Here's a little update: Finally got it to an Onan service center- the price to fix the genny would be just slightly less than a new one @ $2500. It needs a new fuel pump and circuit board and some other stuff. Fixing these things seems darn expensive. I'm thinking I'll keep going without it for now-...

I'd be interested to hear more about the second battery installation- exactly what type of battery it is (I googled AGM batteries, and was quickly overwhelmed), what esle is needed to install it, how it's secured, etc.

1. I've done it with some success. I was in a pinch when I had to replace the battery, so it's not a deep cycle (but I haven't had any problems with it over two years...) so your mileage may vary. I've got a solar panel, so the house battery stays charged, but he wiring voodoo means that the engine ...

Every year I do the haul from the east to Colorado, and it takes me a little over 2 days usually each way- I'm usually on some sort of schedule to be somewhere on either end. I take the approach of starting early, taking breaks when I need them, keeping the speed moderate- usually about 5 under the ...

is it possible to stay logged in, so I don't have to hit "login" every time I visit? It just makes seeing new posts much easier

Cabinet touch-ups

Some of the lower cabinets in my van are showing their age. The finish is looking a little rough in spots, but not everywhere, and things are generally looking a bit "lived in." Short of completely stripping them and re-finishing, I'm wondering what I can do to touch things up a bit? A lig...

Re: Off the road!

1. I passed another B-van headed the other way on I-70 on my way east through Kansas (or maybe Missouri... they look about the same to me). It's always kind of surprising to me to see another one of these vans. I think in the 3 years I've owned mine, I've seen 3 or 4 other ones. Do you feel the sam...
